The view over the faraglioni and the other islands (Lipari, Salina Filicudi and Alicudi) is stunning, especially at sunset time, as you cannot find a better place to have a drink before dinner. At the end of the bay, you can dive off the plateform and swim up to the faraglioni, a lovely and very suitable area for snorkelling. HOT WATERS BEACH– ACQUE CALDE ACQUE CALDE’S BEACH is 800 metres away from CASA GENOVESE, this beach of hot waters is part of the bay facing east, above the harbour at the bottom of the sulphour mountain. This is a secondary volcanisme area, where the gas comes out of several spots of the ground and generates submarine boiling. The water of the sea, permanently heated by those geysers, allows you to have very pleasant bathings from April to November. MUD BATHING Next to the hot waters beach you will find “i fanghi”, an open air clay basin where you can immerse yourself and benefit from its healing properties or have a face mask to beautify your skin. THERMAL BATHING L’Oasi della Salute” is a private geothermal park which offers a welfare journey through several basins of thermal waters. You can also opt for treatments and massages, and have a delicious “pane cunzato” (Sicilian seasoned bread) at the coffee shop. SEA AND SPORT RENT A BOAT Two beaches are provided with several docks where you can rent small motorboats with or without boating licence. A small boat is enough to have a ride round Vulcano Island, visit its wild bays and natural caves and to venture towards Lipari. The pathway of sand and stones is walkable with simple trainers. Climbing takes 30 minutes at normal pace. You can go round the crater and move nearer to the huge smoke and gas spots. This is a moonlike landscape and the view over the seven islands of the archipelago is absolutely unique. The drinks stall at the starting point offers a very fresh almond juice.
