Pat was the oldest of three children. Pat graduated in 1959 from Williston High School. In 1958 Pat married LeRoy Vannett, and from that union they had five children, Cynthia, Darwin, Calvin, Kathryn, and Christina. In 1972, Pat married the love of her life Lester Larson, Jr. and from that union they had three children, Suzzanne, Rebekah and Savannah. Later in life, Pat decided to follow her passion for helping others and return to school and pursue a career in Social Work. Pat obtained her master’s degree in Social Work. Pat spent the remainder of her career as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Williston, ND. Pat enjoyed nurturing everything. Professionally, she advocated for, empowered, and supported children and families as a guardian ad litem, individual, and family therapist. Pat also took great pride in farming the land she and her husband tended together prior to her social work career. She found happiness and joy in nourishing all aspects of life. Pat’s personal fulfillment came from gardening and fostering her relationship with her children and grandchildren who she treasured dearly. Pat’s gardens were exquisite and she loved getting her hands dirty to create such beauty. She also loved sharing them with her children and grandchildren who were always following her around her yard ecstatically delighted to help in any way. Throughout her life, Pat was involved in various committees and organizations, such as Christian Women’s’ Club, the Defenders Bible Study group, Buford-Trenton Homemakers, The National Association of Social Workers and a proud member of the Light of Christ Lutheran Church.
