SCC Committee Reports
Armed Forces Committee (Judge David Wiseman & Brian Clayton): Next committee meeting will be October 28, 2015 (Wednesday).
Education Committee (Velma Palacios): Next committee meeting will be October 14, 2015 (Wednesday)
Environmental Committee (Ron Smith): Next committee meeting will be October 16, 2015 (Friday)
Events Committee (Nida Palconit): This year’s golf tournament has been cancelled.
Government Relations & Economic Development Committee (Ron Smith & John Gourley): Next meeting will be October 15, 2015.
Membership Committee: Chamber welcomes Mir Panna of MIR Corporation.
Small Business Committee (Perry Inos Jr. & Oscar Camacho): Upcoming business seminars will be geared towards recovery efforts.
Saipan Young Professionals Meeting (Mable Ayuyu): SYP assisted in typhoon relief efforts by volunteering at the Empty Vessel Ministry Foundation and collaborating in some of the Community Outreach Recovery Efforts (C.O.R.E.) events. Thank you Vicky Benavente of Pacific Islands
Club for being the SYP September Inspiration Speaker. The theme for October will be “Emergency Management.” Current events and other relevant information are available in the following Facebook page: www.facebook.com/syp96950.
Committee meetings are tentatively scheduled each month, but are subject to change based upon chairpersons’ scheduling requirements.
The Chamber Office will notify all Committee members of the exact scheduling dates and times before each meeting.

AMERCIAN HOTEL AND LODGING EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE
HOSPITALTIY CLASSES
FOR PSS HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS ENROLLING NOW
Latte Training Academy offers American Hotel and Lodging Educational Institute’s START classes
to be held on campus at MHS, KHS, and SSHS after school hours. Only 25 spaces are available at
each high school.
Classes will follow the fall school calendar. Students must commit to an additional 9 hours of
classroom time per week for the entire semester and to accomplishing additional
take home reading.
