Introduction
EDUCA NETWORK has been holding an annual Congress for Teacher Training for the last 12
years, to train and update teachers and school principals, as well as to provide a meeting place
to share experiences.
This is EDUCA’s most important training event for various reasons. It reaches no less than 50%
of the teachers benefitted by EDUCA because its topics are chosen by the teachers themselves
and consequently addresses their development issues directly. It therefore directly impacts on
the number of children reached in the classroom the following school year.
For the last 3 years, we have broadened the scope of the Congress to include institutions
from outside the NETWORK, in order to include civil society organizations that fit the EDUCA
NETWORK profile. This has benefitted teachers from public schools who are interested in
growing and improving their skills in the classroom.
The Congress is an effort to bring together various aspects. We wish to join professionalism
in the social and academic sector in the design and carrying out of innovative educational
workshops with the generosity and good will of the private sector. The financial investment
in our work contributes to make available more equitable educational opportunities not only
for teachers but for students at all levels, from the beginning of school through high school,
especially necessary for the economically underprivileged. To this we add the enthusiasm and
commitment shown by the teachers whose voluntary attendance involves giving up part of
their summer vacation time to come to the Congress.
Goal of EDUCA’s Teacher Training Congress
To give teachers and principals the theoretical and practical tools to improve the
educational quality and academic achievement of their students.
