CPR/FA Team Event
Purpose
– To provide the Health Science student with an opportunity
to develop and demonstrate knowledge and skills in team
CPR/First Aid in emergency care.
Event consists of two rounds of competition for a 2-
person team
– Round 1
• A written, multiple choice test of knowledge and
understanding
• Top scoring teams (scoring 70% or higher) will advance to
Round Two

Judges
• Judges: two judges (one for each rescuer)
– The judge for the first aid procedure's) must be at least a current
ARC First Aid instructor
– The judge for the CPR or Obstructed Airway Procedure's) must be
at least a current ARC or American Heart CPR Instructor
• EMTs and Paramedics may judge either problem
• RNs with emergency training and the above certification
may judge either

Official HOSA judge rating sheets are attached
to the rear of your handout.
Please turn to the judging sheet and prepare to
review either Rescuer 1 (First Aid) or Rescuer
2 (CPR).

Judges rating sheets are collected by event
managers and scores are tallied.
Tallied scores are verified by the HOSA
Competition Committee.
– Round 1 and Round 2 scores are combined and
final scores are recorded.
Event winners are announced and medals
awarded at the awards ceremony on the final
night of the State Leadership Conference.
