This year again, Mode City, the world’s leader in the summer lingerie and swimwear market, will be an event built on making connections and promoting creativity. On 9, 10, and 11 July, Mode City will present a first look at the new trends in Eurexpo Hall 6 in Lyon. At the trade show Mode City will announce the «Designer of the Year» award with Paris Capitale de la Création. The winners at the show’s 33rd edition will be the brand Luli Fama and its two designers Lourdes Hanimian, or «Luli», and Augusto Hanimian. From Cuba and Miami, Luli Fama spreads its unique, colourful style around the world. Creativity is a family affair Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Lourdes Hanimian, nicknamed Luli, always wanted to be a famous fashion designer. After growing up on the Miami beaches, it’s no surprise she was attracted to and inspired by the world of swimwear. In 1990 she and brother-in-law Augusto Hanimian gained experience and expertise in fashion and swimwear alongside their aunt, a well known swimwear designer. In 2003 the duo created the Luli Fama brand. Today 40 percent of the brand’s sales are international, and Luli Fama products are available all over the world via 600 clients in the United States, the Bahamas, Canada, the Dominican Republic, France, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Lebanon, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, Russia, the Seychelles, Sweden, Switzerland, and even Venezuela. Luli Fama also has an own-name boutique where the swimwear collections for women and girls are presented. The boutique is located in Doral, the ultra-chic city west of Miami (Florida) and not far from the brand’s headquarters. The brand’s success has also earned invitations to show in the world’s most important fashion show events, like the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Miami. A mix & match of cultures Luli Fama’s swimwear and beachwear collections are renowned for their modern shapes, bright colours, and original prints. The brand draws inspiration from Luli’s Cuban origins and Miami childhood. The eclectic mix, cosmopolitan culture, and Latin influences create a signature that’s unique, fun, and sophisticated. The Luli Fama design studio is inspired by the rhythms of Caribbean music and South Beach nightlife. To create its collections, the brand uses blues and greens from by the ocean, sparkling gold from the stars, and the beauty found in the voluptuous natural world. The brand also works in collaboration with numerous artists every season to create exclusive prints in floral, aquatic, tribal, and tie dye themes. Being original is key and Luli understands the importance of a brand’s philosophy for consumers. All of the swimwear (monokinis, bikinis) and beachwear (dresses, pareos, caftans) pieces are made in quality materials and accented with details and trims for ultra-feminine looks that can be worn day or night. Celebrities agree! Luli Fama has caught the attention of today’s leading personalities, including Beyoncé, Jennifer Aniston, Shakira, Eva Longoria, and Kate Hudson, who appreciate and wear the designs. The brand is also popular with the current «it girls» such as Kourtney Kardashian and Emily Ratajkowski, and top models Adriana Lima, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Bar Rafaeli, Marisa Miller, and others. They’re all fans of Luli Fama’s colourful print bikinis! { NEWS } For any further information, interviews and visuals : PRESS Contact Luli Fama is widening its horizons with Eye Candy, a new sunglasses collection with contemporary style that goes perfectly with the brand’s swimwear.
