The October Open House at the Chamber kicked off the Drive. Prospective members at the event were introduced to a crowd of 300+ Chamber members and enjoyed a delicious array of food donated member restaurants. The volunteers held many conversations with member prospects to answer questions about how Chamber membership would benefit them and their business. Our newest members are listed in this newsletter. Please take a moment to become familiar continued on page 2 with them. “New Members” continued from page one The Chamber could not complete the drive each year without the help of the many volunteers who donate their time to calling prospects, attending the Open House and attending information sessions. Prospects are able to hear first hand the experience that the volunteers have had with the Chamber. We would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped with the membership drive this year. ✷ Holiday Sparkle ✷ Downtown Northampton is sparkling for the holidays with help from our member businesses. Thanks to their generous donations, we were able to hang holiday banners throughout Downtown and light the Evergreen in Pulaski Park. Festive window displays from downtown shops and restaurants add to the spirit of the season. If you haven’t yet donated, there’s still time. See the red insert in this newsletter. Students enjoyed an array of discounts and treats, including goody bags, gift cards, cider and cookies. The event was organized by the Chamber in conjunction with the Smith College Student Government Association, and coincided with Smith’s Winter Weekend festival. The students were very appreciative of the opportunity to explore new spots in Downtown, which they often don’t get to do because they are busy studying. We hope to encourage more interaction between the students and our Downtown businesses in the future. Many thanks to the generous business owners who participated!
