Congratulations newlyweds! Member: Mary Kay - Sharon Bone Kudos: Congratulations to Sharon for achieving two recent Mary Kay goals. For the quarter ending June 15, Sharon earned a prize for achieving star consultant status. The second award is she gets to attend a special reception at Mary Kay seminar where she will get additional prizes. Sharon earned this award because she was a star consultant in all 4 quarters and sold enough Mary Kay products to be in the Go-Give Court of Sales. Way to go Sharon! Member: Mixes Galore - Amanda Maderas Kudos: Amanda was recently honored with a Community Service award from the Norwin Rotary Club. The Norwin Rotary Club gives this award to a person who exhibits Rotary’s motto of “Service Above Self” in the area of community service. The recipient does not have to be a member of the Norwin Rotary Club to receive the award. The award is given every year at the Rotary club’s annual Anniversary & Installation Dinner. Amanda received the award because of the work she does with the IBPA, the Norwin Chamber, the Norwin Rotary, and her church. Congratulations Amanda! It’s a scary word for most of us. Why? Because it requires effort, it’s scary, it’s uncomfortable. We humans are habitual creatures, accustomed to living our lives on autopilot…doing the same routines every day – day in and day out. In order to change, we have to break free from our habits and consciously make different choices. We have to Think! This is a painful process for most and that’s why we often feel stuck. So, we stay that way because change can just be too darn hard!! And so it goes, we live our lives stuck in a relationship, stuck in a job, stuck with a body that we don’t even recognize anymore! And some of us will just live this way for the rest of our life! Is that what you want from life? Do you want to be old and feeble one day and say ‘I wish I would’ve gone more places or done more things but now it’s just too late!’ Heck no! You want to live the life of your dreams and I can show you how! Article provided by Beth Gates with Results From Thinking The first secret to creating change – the real, lasting kind of change, not the ‘New Year’s resolution’ kind that fails before the month is up – is to think about WHY you want the change to happen and not think about WHAT just yet. The WHY is what motivates you. The WHY is what gets you excited, brings tears to your eyes and inspires you to get up in the morning! • You want to get into shape. WHY? So you look great in your new bikini! • You want to grow your business. WHY? So your son can work in the business with you and you can both profit from that growth! • You want that beautiful stone house with the 5 acres of wooded property. WHY? So you can raise your family in a cozy home where you can cook Sunday meals in your gourmet kitchen! • You want to buy a speedboat. WHY? So you can check out all of those girls in their new bikinis! (Okay…just kidding there) • The WHY is what inspires action. Once you have the WHY and you can really feel the emotion around it, now it’s time to get focused on the WHAT. Your WHAT – that new stone house, the new exciting career, the new relationship with the perfect guy, the new body that looks great in anything you wear – needs to stay in front of you so that it is the focal point of your daily life. This bears repeating. If you really, really, really want something – you have to have constant reminders of that WHAT bombarding your brain every day! Knowledge is Power (cont.) Your brain receives millions of bits of information from your surroundings every second. Think of all of the things that are going on around you when you’re walking down a busy city street … the people walking by, the sounds, the smells, the traffic, the things to buy displayed in the windows. There is no possible way your brain can take all of that in, so it’s the job of the subconscious to filter out the unimportant stuff so you are left with the tiniest fraction of all of that stimuli. This becomes your reality – that small bit of information your subconscious decided was important enough to keep. When you focus on the WHAT, and keep focusing on the WHAT, your subconscious starts to pay attention to whatever it is relating to that WHAT. Have you ever bought a new car and the next day, everywhere you go, you see the same car, color and all? That is because your brain is now picking up that new information, whereas before, it would’ve ignored it. And that is why you have to keep your WHAT in front of you so your subconscious can get in the habit of paying attention to what you want. Something very important to keep in mind when focusing on your WHAT is that you always have to focus on it in a positive manner. Don’t think “I’m so sick of living in my in-laws basement! I can’t wait to get out!” Think - “Living in my new beautiful condo is going to be so awesome!” Don’t think “Wow these man-boobs have got to go!” Think “I am going to be such a chick magnet when I have a strong muscular body!” Are you getting the gist? So how can you keep your focus on the WHAT? (I knew you were going to ask me that) Print out pictures of what you want. Look in magazines for decorating ideas for your new house and keep them. Test drive the car of your dreams so you can feel what it’s going to be like once you get it. Go look at houses that are like the one you want to live in. Buy fitness magazines or look online for exercise ideas. Talk to those who have done what you want to do and learn from them. Join clubs that focus on what you want in your life. Talk to a travel agent and get brochures of the places you want to travel to. Be creative! Get excited! Picture what you want in your life as if you have it right now. Every morning and every evening, look at what you want, read about what you want, feel what it’s like to have what you want! Think about WHY you want it and how much better your life is with it! Do this for 30 days and I promise you, you will see your life change in ways you would have never imagined, so go live the life of your dreams!
