Roxie’s Fund volunteers and
puppy class Huskies at the
Husky Madness event.
Husky Madness!
Roxie’s Fund was thrilled to run the
concession stand again this year at
the Chesapeake Siberian Husky
Club’s breed specialty show. This
year the event was held on March
3-4 at the Catoctin Kennel Club.
An array of volunteers got to work
preparing a variety of soups,
sandwiches, and drinks for the
crowds. Even dog treats of course!
We want to say THANKS to Josie,
Jeanne, Nancy, Cindy, Daniel, Gavin,
Sonja, Debbie, Lori, Bev, Mary, Dave,
Doug, and Theresa for all of their
help in preparing food, manning the
table, and otherwise helping the
event run smoothly.
Everyone enjoyed the dog show as
well, with the gorgeous canines
primped and groomed to look their
best for the show. The show
included conformation and
obedience trials. Puppy class
conformation is shown above.
We heard rave reviews about the
food and were pleased with this
fund-raiser again! Thanks to the
help of our volunteers, we raised
over $700, our best for this event!
Paws in the Park
Montgomery County Humane Society
holds their annual Paws in the Park on
April 29, 2012 from 12-4pm at Bohrer
Park in Gaithersburg. This annual event
is the county’s largest dog walk event.
Held in cooperation with the City of
Gaithersburg, this year is a new location
at the Bohrer Park at Summit Hill Farm.
Roxie’s Fund is again participating in this
great event. We will have a display table
and some adoptable dogs. We need
volunteers to help out! We need help
with setup, cleanup, transport of dogs,
and sitting at the table to talk to the
public. This is a great event to be
involved in! For details about the
event, see www.mchumane.org If you

Sponsor Spotlight
Where would we be without our
fabulous volunteers and business
sponsors? Nowhere! We want to
give a shout-out to some of our many
sponsors, and those businesses that
host us for adoption events. Please
patronize them!

FR A N C I S
Francis is a cute boxer-lab mix who is
just a wonderful dog! Francis loves
everyone, especially kids and other
dogs. He has a relaxing and friendly
energy that makes everyone smile
wherever he goes. Francis already
knows his basic commands, loves car
rides and new experiences. He’d be a
great companion or family dog.
N IN A
Nina is a boxer mix who is sweet and
friendly all around. She loves her
time at doggie daycare and her
hobbies are playing with other dogs,
getting lovin’ from everyone she
meets, and playing ball in the yard.
Nina does well with people of all
ages. She has great house manners
and loves to snuggle up and watch TV
at the end of the day.
PIRELLI
Pirelli is a cool-looking variable king
snake. He has a slight neurological
problem that makes his movement a
bit funny, but it does not affect his
daily life or eating. If you are
interested in a reptile as a pet, plan on
doing some research, and please
contact us for more information!

go? Sometimes, but it brings
great joy to know you are making
a difference .

our rescue dogs without our

auction items for our events.
Adoptable dog Taz meets some friends at the All
Dogs Club where he attends doggie daycare. Learn
