Peace Prayer
Blessed are the
peacemakers, for they will
be called children of God!" (Matthew 5.9)
Loving God, teach us to be people of peace.
Teach us to love one another that
there may be peace in our families.
Teach us to strengthen one another,
that there may be peace in our school.
Teach us to live and work justly, that there
may be peace in our city.
Teach us to give equal respect and
opportunity, that there may be peace in our
nation.
Teach us to be peacemakers in all that we
do. Amen.
The month of November marks a special
occasion for us all to take time from our
busy schedules to remember the men and
women who have given so much of
themselves to ensure our safety and
freedom. As we remember the many
sacrifices made for our freedom this
month, please continue to pray for
peace in our world.

return to the photographer. If you
missed the first round, pick up an order
form at the office.
Safety Drills - Fire Safety ,
Lockdown, and Tornado
We have already had 2 great
fire drills, and during this
month , we will continue to
practice our fire safety, tornado
and lockdown procedures. If
you happen to be visiting during
these drills we would ask that you follow the
same procedures as the students and staff
(exit the building immediately upon hearing the
alarm).
Missing a School Day or Late
If your child is missing a school day or late,
please call school attendance line and leave a
message including your child full name,
teacher’s name and grade.

Going out for Lunch
All students going out at lunch-time
MUST have a signed & dated note
from a parent giving them
permission. Phone calls, faxes, or
emails will not be accepted due to
the high number of students we have.
Project Hope - Halloween Dance
We Day, Project Hope and Holy Spirit
helping those less
fortunate in Syria ...
Our Halloween Event was a
huge success and lots of
goblins, superheroes, and
friends were in attendance!
Holy Spirit School reached
their goal and will make a donation on behalf of
our We Day Initiative - Project Hope. Your actions
FLAMES will help those in such extreme need in
the Middle East. A big thank you goes out to our
We Day Student Leadership Team, Madame D.,
Madame Silva, Mrs. Ianni and ALL at Holy Spirit
School for coming together to bring our faith calling
into ACTION. We truly are “WITNESSES TO
HOPE.”
Early Pick-up & Late Drop Off
Pease write a note in your child’s agenda, or
send a written, dated, and signed note .
Phone calls disrupt the students in the
classroom and valuable teaching time.
Your co-operation is appreciated to help us
keep interruptions to a minimum!
Coming in late? Please tell your children to
sign in and get a late slip from the main office,
so both the teacher and the office will know the
student is late.

Planning to Take a Vacation
If you are planning to take a vacation, please
call the school office or send a note in your
child’s agenda to the classroom teacher. For
safety, we want to ensure we have noted your
child’s absence from school. Thanks!
SPIRIT WEAR - Show Your Spirit
Spirit Wear Order Forms have gone home
and samples will be available to view and try
on in the foyer at both Parent-Teacher
Interview Nights (Nov. 4-5th). Students can
chose from t-shirts, long sleeve shirts,
hooded sweatshirts, zip up hoodies,
sweatpants, shorts, ball caps, toques, and
cinch packs. All order forms are due
Friday, Nov. 6th. Thanks for sharing your
school spirit!
Volunteers Wanted - School Christmas
Turkey Luncheon - Tuesday, Dec. 15th
The Holy Spirit School Council is looking for
parent and grandparent
volunteers to assist with a
Christmas Turkey
Luncheon School Event
set for all students, staff
and volunteers on
Tuesday, December 15th.
If you are able to assist with this event,
please sign up at the table outside the Gym
during Parent Interviews on Nov. 4th and Nov.
5th or call the school office to leave your
contact information.
This event will not be possible without the
help of many volunteers. Please consider
helping with this event; we hope to create a
special Christmas memory for the students
and our school community.

Inclement Weather Notice
Under certain conditions such as
inclement weather, it may be necessary to
close Holy Spirit Catholic School or send
students home early. For information about school
bus cancellation/school closure, please listen to local
radio stations (i.e. CHYM 96.7). Also, you can visit the
Board’s web site at www.wcdsb.ca for information re
bus cancellation/school closures. Note: If ONLY
Transportation is cancelled, the school will remain
open but parents will need to make alternative travel
arrangements both to and from school.

Hot Lunches - First Wednesday of each Month
Remember Me Inc., will be continuing with our “Lunches on the
first Wednesday of the month” - A Hot PASTA dishes will be
added to our online menu in the new year. All orders can be
conveniently placed on the Remember Me Inc. website at
www.remembermeinc.com. Milk and Lunch Orders
for Nov. 4th can now be placed. All online orders
must be made by 5 p.m. at least 2 school days prior to
the delivery date.
