Some ways people are negative to themselves or others are: never feeling good enough, procrastinating, faultfinding, being critical or negative, constant complaining, being a perfectionist or full of gloom & doom. Come and be free from the negative type. To register, call the Center at 855-1232. Suggested donation is $20 per person and includes supper. Please register by June 5th. The Silver and Golden Wedding Anniversary Celebration is to take place on Sunday, June 21st at the 11:15 am Mass in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Any couple celebrating their 25th, 50th, 55th, 60th, 65th, or 70th anniversary is invited to attend. Following Mass will be a reception with Bishop Provost in the Ave Maria Hall. Family members of the honored couples are also invited to attend the Mass and reception. Registration forms are in the St. Theodore office. Forms are due by June 16th. SUMMER ROSARY MAKING GUILD A Rosary Making Guild for making Rosaries for Missions starting soon! Come and learn how to make Rosaries that will be donated to missions around the world. Wednesdays beginning May 27th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Enrichment Center. Open to ages entering 6th grade through adult. What a great way to spend a couple of hours a week doing God’s work. For more information or to sign up, contact Patricia Gilley by phone or text at 526-9197. Baptismal Prep Classes Baptismal Prep Class is held on the last Sunday of each month at 2pm, in Doyle’s Place. This class is for PARENTS who need to schedule a Baptism in the upcoming months. It is also for anyone who will be a GODPARENT and needs certification. Please contact the Church office for registration information. The next class will be on May 31st. Dear Parishioners: After a lengthy 50-day celebration of the Easter season with First Communions, Confirmations, graduations, and end-of-school festivities, we now enter into a quieter time of summer rest. It is a time to slow down, to give thanks, and to enjoy time with family and loved ones. As Church, we enter into Ordinary Time, revisiting in the Gospel each Sunday the life and ministry of our Blessed Lord and how it applies to our lives. Each Sunday, we will be reading mostly from St. Mark’s Gospel (Year B) and also from St. John (Chapter 6) until December. So it’s a good time to re-read Mark’s Gospel in preparation for the next few months of Sunday Masses. Beginning July 1st, the weekday Mass schedule will be as follows: Mondays at 6:15 a.m.; Tuesdays at 8:30 a.m.; Wednesdays at 6:15 a.m.; Thursdays at 8:30 a.m.; Fridays at 12:05 p.m., and Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. Thank you to all of you who completed the surveys to help us adjust the weekday Mass schedule in light of having only one priest in full-time ministry beginning in July. Note that there is no change to the weekend Mass schedule. It will continue to be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, and on Sundays at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 5:30 p.m. Please remember us priests in your prayers as we gather Monday through Wednesday for our annual convocation with our Bishop. It is a welcome time of communal prayer, study, and fellowship. May it nourish and strengthen us for a new year of ministry together. Our seminarian, Addison Pitre, is moving in to the parish this weekend. We will welcome him after all Masses next weekend. Please keep him and all of our future priests in your prayers during their summer assignments. Our spring campaign continues to progress. The church interior is looking great and the stained glass is being repaired. We had an air conditioner go out, but our mechanical insurance is saving us thousands of dollars to replace it. And a generous friend and ACTS brother has offered to complete a needed insulation job of the air conditioner closet, which will save additional thousands of dollars. May God bless his generosity. Summer blessings, Fr. Huckaby www.MossBluffCatholic.org Father Conley Bertrand of Lafayette will celebrate the Anniversary Mass for the Diocese of Lake Charles Come, Lord Jesus! on Wednesday, June 3 at 9:30am at St. Margaret’s Family Life Center followed by a potluck salad luncheon.
