Spring 201 - KelsoKidz
M ESSAGE FROM THE P RESIDENT It is with great pleasure that the Kelso Public Schools Foundation Board of Trustees announces that Jana Clarke has accepted the position as the Foundation’s first Executive Director. Jana has served the Foundation in many different capacities over the years. She organized the first mailing list of Foundation supporters, coordinated the newsletter mailings, assisted with the Grant Selection Committee and most recently, served as the Vice President and member of the Executive Committee. Many wonderful ideas have been suggested by Foundation Board members to increase fundraising efforts, the visibility of the organization and to assist teachers and students, but it is difficult for the volunteer board members to take on extra tasks and responsibilities. Jana, as the Executive Director, will be able to direct the projects and activities of the Foundation. She will be employed on a half time basis, 0.5 FTE. Jana graduated from Kelso High School and has been a loyal supporter of the From the humble beginning of the District’s programs and activities. I couldn’t believe the kids were moaning and groaning when I asked them to put them away.” Thanks again, Bethny Webb Butler Acres Elementary School, Teacher A LUMNUS T HANK Y OU To the members of KPSF, This ‘thank you’ is rather belated, but better late than never. I graduated from KHS in June 2010 and from Gonzaga University in May 2014. As the recipient of the Kate Long Scholarship I received funding through KPSF for all 4 years I attended GU. While I was aware and grateful for that while in school the true impact of your Foundation’s support is now even more appreciated as I balance student loan payments and rent with an entry- level income. Your support helped me focus on my studies while at GU and is now providing me with a more secure financial footing as I leave the student life’s ‘safety net’. Thank you so much, all Kelso graduates are lucky to have the KPSF. Sincerely, Kaitlin Wood P AGE 6 Thank You to Our Donors October 1st, 2014 - March 31st, 2015 A special thank you to our donors!
