World Marriage Day
2012
World Marriage Day is held each year
on the second Sunday in February to
honor the lifelong commitment of husband and wife.
World Marriage Day events provide
the visible sign of support couples need to continue to
make the daily decision to love one another. This year's
World Marriage Day will be celebrated on Sunday, February 12, 2012.
Couples celebrating significant anniversaries (25, 50, 60 or
more years) of their Sacrament of Marriage will be recognized and have their Sacramental vows renewed at the
10:00 am (English) and 12:30pm (español) Masses. (Couples
who register ahead of time will receive a commemorative
certificate of their Sacramental Marriage Anniversary and
will have the opportunity to take a photo with the Celebrant following the Mass.

January 15 marks WORLD DAY OF MIGRANTS AND
REFUGEES. Many critics contested Scalabrini's vision on migration.
They maintained that migration was a temporary phenomenon caused
by a temporary crisis in a difficult period of political and social adjustment at the time of the Industrial Revolution in Europe. Scalabrini, however, was a prophet and prophets see things with the eyes
of God. He saw migration as a natural phenomenon that had occurred
from the very beginning of the history of humanity, since God’s creative word set it in motion - "multiply and fill the earth". Migration is
at the heart of salvation history, without migration the word of God
would not have spread and the evangelization process would never
have taken place.
Current events proved Scalabrini right 100%. Seven billion people on
our planet and millions of them are on the move like never before in
human history. For the past 125 years, since the Scalabrinian family
was founded, human migration has been increasing by leaps and
bounds and indeed today the harvest is abundant. It's impossible not
to meet migrants at any level of our society. Our parishes, missions
and communities are being challenged to prove themselves truly
Catholic and fully open and universal as Christian communities
should be, in welcoming migrants. They are a positive provocation,
as they remind us of our Catholic identity and our call to be witnesses
of the universal mission of the church of which we are living members.

ADULT CONFIRMATION PROGRAM at

The Cathedral will offer a six-week Adult Confirmation Preparation Course during the Lenten
Season. The course is open to persons who have
reached their 18th birthday, have graduated from
high school, have been baptized in the Catholic

SEMILLA DEL REINO / CATEQUESIS PARA ADULTOS
REQUISITOS PARA BAUTIZAR EN EL
SANTO ROSARIO Y LA MISION DE ZAPOPAN
Este programa de catequesis es un proceso de evangelización para jóvenes y adultos mayores de 18 años de edad ya
que no han recibido sus sacramentos. Está diseñado para
todos los que desean conocer la fe católica y quieren también comprometerse más profundamente en la comunidad
a través de la evangelización. Para inscribirse, solamente
deben presentarse el Martes, 10 de Enero 2012 a las 7:00
pm en el salón # 12.
Traer acta de nacimiento, asistir a clases las cuales serán designadas
por la secretaria. Los padrinos deber ser católicos y practicar su fe.
También los padrinos si son pareja deben ser casados por la Iglesia
Católica Romana, si no son pareja deben ser mayores de edad y tener
el sacramento de Confirmación, se necesita prueba de estos sacramentos, cuota de inscripción de $30, los niños no deben de superar los 6
años de edad, para aquellos que la superen deberán inscribirse al programa parroquial de educación cristiana (RICA). Los bautizos se
realizan en grupo solamente.
