Student numbers this fall are up to 41 students in ECS-Grade 9 at Cherry
Coulee Christian Academy in Bow Island. “School is going along quite
nicely,” reports new school secretary Melodie Pahl. “Things are good.”
Melodie is one of three new Koinonia staff in the south. CCCA also set out
the welcome mat for their new Grades 1-3 teacher Anne Hodgkinson and
janitor Beth Paynter.
Creation Ministries founder Richard Fangrad spoke to about 100 students
and area residents October 1 at Cherry Coulee. As the CEO of the creation-focused ministry, Mr.
Fangrad is known for his
knowledgeable and easyto-understand scientific
principles regarding creation vs. evolution. “He
presented creation in a
way that people can understand and really
brought it down to everyday terms,” reports Melodie. A ‘question and answer’ format fielded many
questions from spectators

out the successful evening.
Involvement within the community is once again on the calendar at Cherry
Coulee. A seniors’ outreach with students reading, playing games and vis(Continued on page 2)

iting at the local Extended
Care and Senior Home facilities will be in students’ immediate futures. “It is very
much appreciated by all who
participate,” says Melodie.
Pray for Wayne & Inga Giesbrecht &
family from YKCS. Wayne had a severe
stroke and is in Edmonton hospital. (Inga is
the secretary/bookkeeper at YKCS.)
Students and staff will be taking time out of their studies November 8th for a Remembrance Day service at
the school. Members of the local Legion will also be in
attendance.

A silent auction and supper will be on the fundraising
menu November 16 at the
school gymnasium. Anyone interested in further details is encouraged to contact the school.
