Jaguar Newsletter
Dear Families:
It’s hard to believe that it is that time of the year-time to say goodbye to another great school year at
Beasley! Be sure to read and keep this newsletter for important information to help begin planning for next
year, including the district calendar. Check your child’s report card for a school supply list for next year
too!
This has been an incredible year of learning and fun! Thanks to our terrific staff and your continued support, our school community continues to grow and move forward, always putting the students first!
When I take a look back at this year and what we’ve accomplished, the list is very impressive. We’ve continued our successful partnership with the Positive Behavior Support Network and were just notified by the
State of Missouri that we have achieved the Bronze recognition level for Missouri-School-wide Positive Behavior Support (SW-PBS) implementation. As a school, we continued Response to Intervention and Aimsweb screening to pinpoint how we can intervene and help students where needed. Our staff met with students weekly during an intervention block set aside for this purpose. We continued to make helping others
a priority and made a difference in the lives of others on a regular basis. We continue to be a National
School of Character and were just notified that we have been recognized by the Character Education Partnership for two (2) Promising Practices; Touching Hearts Through Meals on Wheels and The “Business” of
Learning. We initiated “Families” and had a fun field day in our family units. We held an informative Abilities
Day, super Jump Rope for Heart, Literacy Nights, first ever Family Drumming Night and BOGO Summer
Kick Off Book Fair and many other successful events. There are just too many things to name in this newsletter!
Another new year also brings about changes in staffing. We want to wish four staff members best of luck as
they leave Beasley; Rachel Anani, Katie Hingle, Jody Shaffer and Mary Berry. Mary Berry, Beasley teacher,
is retiring after many years of service. Rachel Anani plans to move overseas and continue her education
while working in a school there. Katie and Jody, our part time reading specialists, will be pursuing other
teaching positions. All of you will be missed. Thanks for your contributions to Beasley.
We have some teachers who will be changing positions at Beasley for next year. Beth Griffin will be teaching second grade while Jennifer Bayer will be teaching third grade. Kim Hinkamp will now be a Reading
Specialist. We will be interviewing soon for our other open positions and will be excited to introduce our
new additions to you in August.
In order to keep developing your mind, remember to read, join the St. Louis County Library Summer Reading Program, practice math facts, write to a friend, stay fit and active, help others and enjoy the arts over
the summer! School may over for the year, but remember what I say – LEARNING NEVER ENDS.
Have a safe and happy summer!!
~Mrs. Deane
