Thank you for your enquiry to The Best Western Dryfesdale Hotel regarding our
wedding facilities. We hope you will have the opportunity to visit our award

We are a 4 star establishment as rated by the Scottish Tourist Board. With our
recent achievement of the “Scotland’s Hotel of the Year for Care and Courtesy”
Award 2004/2005 as awarded by the AA we pride ourselves on the fact that we are
renowned for our outstanding wedding ceremonies and exemplary service in this
region. The AA has also awarded two Rosettes for excellent food and service.
We also have an extensive wine list and stock a wide variety of champagnes. We
have 29 bedrooms, which would be at the disposal of you and your guests, including
singles, doubles, superior suites and garden suites, and of course the deluxe four
poster honeymoon suites.

A WEDDING INTRODUCTION
Set amid five acres of scenic, elevated parkland, and approached through a
sweeping avenue of beech trees, The Best Western Dryfesdale Country House
Hotel holds one of the most enviable positions and affords some of the most
beautiful views in the whole Dumfries and Galloway. Our long standing “Civil
Ceremony License” enables couples to hold the all-important wedding service
inside the hotel, or in the well appointed grounds, and of course this means that
the guests are able to relax without having to worry about travelling from venue
to venue! Enjoy the most special day of your lives in the most special
surroundings!
Gorgeously refurbished Four-Poster Bridal Suites offer the special couple the first
class in opulence and luxury, while their guests are accommodated in spacious
garden suites with stunning panoramic views of the Dryfesdale Valley.
The Award Winning Kirkhill Suite has recently and carefully been refurbished to carry the feeling of luxury from the bedrooms and
lounges to the grandest room in this stunning country house. The ability to seat up to 150 guests for the wedding reception in
stunning surroundings with endless views of the rolling Scottish countryside ensures the Bride and Groom will be the centre of
attention on their special day. Our Kirkhill Suite also has its own private bar and boasts stunning views of the Dryfesdale Valley.
Our second room is a classically themed private dining room, “The Glenfarclas Lounge” which can seat up
to 20 guests in comfort and style. A private and intimate feel which incorporates time honoured and
traditional touches such as log burning fires, you can be sure that whatever your requirements, they will be
catered for in the upmost of style, comfort and luxury.
Our third room the Manse Suite can accommodate 30 guests in a private dining
room with its own private bar.
Our final function room the Glenlouis Suite can host 90 guests for a wedding breakfast
meal with its own private bar and doors leading out directly onto the hotels gardens it
is the perfect wedding suite for the perfect wedding day.
WEDDING BREAKFAST
Our head chef and his team have striven to give us the best hotel and
restaurant in the area, we strongly believe that your wedding day should
be exactly as you would like it to be. Therefore our menus are designed to
cater for almost every taste, however if there is something that you would
particularly prefer we would be delighted to discuss this with you.
We do not have set menus but a list of choices for you to create your own
set menu below.
The choices are listed below and the price is £32.50 per person based on
all guests having the same menu 1 set starter or soup for all, 1 set main
course or fish for all and 1 set dessert for all (when no packages are taken).
If you would prefer to offer your guests a choice menu the price is £37.50
per person You can choose up to 3 starters or soup, 3 main courses or fish
and 3 desserts (when no packages are taken). A pre-order from all guests is
required no later than four weeks in advance.(see are wedding coordinators for more information)

WEDDING CEREMONY
The hotel holds a wedding license to allow religious and civil wedding ceremonies to take place either
in the gardens of the hotel or one of our private rooms, the cost to host the wedding ceremony is
£250.00 with the registrars fees additional and payable directly to the registrar.
(does not include legal fees which are paid separately to the registrar)
EXCLUSIVE WEDDINGS
Weddings that would like to host an exclusive wedding event at the hotel (the hotel is closed to non
wedding guests) simply book all bedrooms within the hotel and pay a £50.00 per room deposit with a
minimum of 60 adult guest meals being billed for. This will give you your very own hotel for the day or
even the weekend if you would prefer.
The bridal party must pay in full for all bedrooms 1 month prior to the event date when issued with their final wedding account,
regardless of any unoccupied rooms, the full amount is liable by the bridal party for all bedrooms, no refunds are available.on
any bedrooms not occupied.
FINAL NUMBERS AND ACCOUNT SETTLEMENT
All wedding breakfasts must have final numbers confirmed and account settled no later that four weeks
prior to the event, no refunds will be awarded after the four week cut off period has passed.

ACCOMMODATION AT THE BEST WESTERN DRYFESDALE HOTEL
All of our 29 bedrooms are everything you would expect from a 4 star Country
House Hotel. Each one is fully en-suite with superb views of the hotel grounds
and surrounding countryside. Families are welcome and pets are also welcome
by arrangement.
Our remaining bedrooms are all accessible by a spectacular sweeping staircase
backlit by a magnificent stained glass window, still in its original splendour. As
these are still part of the original house they boast their very own individual
views and styles. Two of these rooms have been refurbished into luxurious suites.
To relax and enjoy the wonderful views, these rooms offer our guests an ideal
place to unwind.
Wedding parties with a minimum of 10 bedrooms booked will receive a
reduction on prices published in this brochure when booked within one month
of your confirmation being received.
We also have three four poster suites with individual character, allowing guests
to choose their very own style.

Bedroom prices are as quoted. Prices are valid
from the 1st January 2015 until the 1st January
2017 and will then have a 5% increase.
All rooms require a £50.00 non refundable
deposit at the time of booking.

BOOKING PROCEDURE
Terms and conditions - once you have decided that you would
like to reserve your wedding at The Best Western Dryfesdale
Country House Hotel simply follow these steps to ensure that
everything for the big day goes to plan. Confirm in writing the date
of the wedding, approximate numbers and timings, accommodation
requirements and a deposit of £500.00 (non-refundable).
It is necessary for those guests who require accommodation to advise the hotel as
soon as possible. A deposit of £50.00 per room is required. We will then confirm in
writing that we have received your deposit and that your booking has been reserved.
1 month prior to your reception we require final numbers and the final invoice paid in
full. Final numbers should be confirmed with no amendments allowed after the final
balance has been settled, no refunds or transfers of funds will be allowed after this time.
