Brighten your room’s mood with a throw that

made of boomerang shapes and then triangle
motifs fill in the spaces. Of course if you are going
for a more peaceful mood, there are plenty of
softer hues available in this yarn.

Notes
1. Throw is made from boomerang motifs and triangles
arranged as shown in Assembly Diagram.

of rows. Refer to diagram for correct placement of side-toarm and arm-to-side joins.
3. 1-arm boomerangs are made after all other motifs are
worked. Triangles are sewn in last between motifs.
4. Border is worked in joined rounds with. Refer to Assembly
Diagram for placement of first stitch.

Graphic Fall Throw
This festive throw takes a spin into the sixties with
a pattern that is a blast from the past. The motifs
are joined into strips with the light background
setting off the fall colors. Tails from the strips are
gathered into tassels.
Throw measures 45” wide x 55” long (114.5 x 139.5 cm).
Notes
1. Throw is made of 84 marquise motifs worked in joined
rounds with right side facing. Marquise motifs are joined
into Strips which are arranged as shown in Assembly
Diagram and joined together.
2. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn
over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops
on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Cut
old color.
3. When instructed to work into a stitch or space “2 rounds
below”, work into the round numbered 2 less than the
current round. For example, if you are working Round 3, a
stitch “2 rounds below” is in Round 3 – 2 = Round 1.
4. Beginning and ending tails of Strips are gathered into
tassels.

Patriotic Pride
Throw
Combine your love of country with your love
of ripples and grannies! This striking throw is
the perfect way to show your patriotic spirit
with crochet!
Throw measures 65” at widest points x 46” long
(165 x 117 cm).
Special Stitches
sc2tog = [Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and pull up a
loop] twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
sc2tog-over-4 (single crochet 2 together over 4 stitches)
= Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop
(2 loops on hook), skip next 2 stitches, insert hook in next
stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop (3 loops on hook), yarn
over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.
Special Techniques
Join with dc = Place a slip knot on hook, yarn over, insert
hook in indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, [yarn
over and draw through 2 loops on hook] 2 times.
Join with sc = Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in
indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and
draw through both loops on hook.
Notes
1. Nine granny squares are made in joined rounds with
right side facing at all times. Squares are joined together
to form center strip of throw with a “join as you go”
technique.
2. Rows are worked from top and bottom edges of center
strip in a ripple pattern.
3. Work with larger hook throughout entire throw except
last round of border.
4. Border is made in joined rounds written in steps for ease
of reading.

Splendor Throw
This sophisticated throw is at home in
traditional or modern rooms. The hexagon
motifs are crocheted similar to granny
squares, but with a couple more corners. Our
instructions are for joining the hexagons into
strips, and then joining the strips.
Throw measures 42” wide x 53” long (106.5 x 134.5 cm).
Special Stitches
sm shell (small shell) = (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in indicated space.
lg shell (large shell) = (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in indicated space.
Special Techniques
Adjustable-ring method = Wrap yarn in a ring, ensuring
that the tail falls behind the working yarn. Grip ring and
tail firmly between middle finger and thumb. Insert hook
through center of ring, yarn over (with working yarn) and
draw up a loop. Work stitches of first round in the ring,
working over both strands (the tail and the ring). After the
first round of stitches is worked, pull gently, but firmly, on
tail to tighten ring.
Join with hdc = Place a slip knot on hook, yarn over, insert
hook in indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn
over, draw through all 3 loops on hook.
Join with sc = Place a slip knot on hook, insert hook in
indicated stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and
draw through both loops on hook.
Notes
1. Throw is made from 53 hexagon-shaped motifs worked
in joined rounds. Thirty motifs are solid-colored and 23
motifs are worked in 7 multicolor sequences.
2. Refer to assembly diagram when joining motifs in strips.
Strips 2–7 are joined as you go to strips 1–6.
3. Work all joining rows in the same direction for a uniform
appearance.

Notes
1. Read pattern carefully. Pay attention to row turning
instructions. Throw is worked in rows but is only turned
every other row.
2. Two right side rows are worked, the first with A and the
second with B. Then the piece is turned and two wrong
side rows are worked, the first with A and the second
with B.
3. Do not fasten off yarn until instructed. Carry color not in
use along side of piece when next needed.
4. To change to A at the end of a row, work last stitch with
B until only 2 loops remain on hook. Remove the loop of
A from stitch marker and place it on the hook. Draw the
loop of A through the 2 loops of B to complete the stitch.
Drop, but do not cut, B.
5. To change to B at the beginning of a row, insert hook in
top ch of beginning ch-3 of previous row, yarn over with
dropped strand of B and pull a loop through.

Throw
Here’s a throw that is at home in most any room.
We show it in a traditional sitting room but it
would be just as at home in a casual bedroom
or on modern first apartment sofa. There are just
twenty blocks in two color combinations
to crochet.
Throw measures 49” [124.5 cm] wide x 61” [155 cm] long.
NOTES
Blocks are worked in sections working in rows. Narrow
Section is worked from lower edge to top edge. Vertical
Stripe is worked along one long edge. Wider Section is
worked in rows, joining to Narrow Section along Vertical
Stripe every row. Work 20 Blocks; 10 with A and B and 10
with A and C. Rounds 1-3 of Border are worked around each
Block. Then Blocks are joined together on Round 4. Throw
is made up of 5 rows with 4 Blocks in each row, alternating
colors and direction.
