News from the Pasadena, Texas Chamber of Commerce
CHAIRMAN LETTER
Dear Friends,
I grew up just a few miles from
Pasadena off Frey Road and
Edgebrook. Our small street had
11 boys within 3 years of my age.
Gary, Larry, Kenny, Christy, Jacky,
Butchy, Marky, Tommy, Tony,
Scotty, and Scott. As you can
Gary Nickelson
imagine, we got in to our share of
Chairman of the Board
trouble. We were as close as any
childhood friends could be. During the day, we played
baseball, football, caught minnows and crawdads at the big
ditch, road skateboards, shot BB guns, caught cicadas and
“Yay-yays”, and just wandered the streets. At night, well,
I’d rather not say what kinds of things we did. That’s
where the mischief came in. If you’re curious, ask me later.
We were a big family, but over time, I lost contact with
most of them. Larry is a warehouse manager, Ken is a
schoolteacher, Mark is an insurance agent, and Captain
Scotty is a professional kayak and deep-sea fisherman.
When I lost my job back in 2007, my wife and I opened
our business in Pasadena. We joined the Chamber, where
Sherry and her staff immediately made us feel welcome. I
became an ambassador about a year later and made new
friends and met other business owners. Over the years,
these relationships have been very important for me from a
business standpoint, but more importantly, from a personal
standpoint. Although I miss my childhood friends, I’ve
made new life-long friends here in this great city. My wife
and I are proud to be in Pasadena, and hope to be here for
many years to come.
You too can become a part of the Pasadena Chamber
family…see what committee you would like to volunteer
on, become an Ambassador…engage. Check out the
Chamber website and stay tuned to e-mails to see upcoming events. Make sure to put a team in this year’s Industrial
Appreciation Golf Tournament honoring 2013 Industry of
the Year, The Mundy Companies. The tournament will be
held on May 20, 2013 at TimberCreek Golf Club. Until
next month……

The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Infintech to offer an
exclusive member benefit program to bring members much lower rates through
combined group buying power. With lower fees across the board, members get
savings that maximizes their profits.
Power of the Program
Members enrolled in the program will have access to lower fees, utilizing Cost-Plus
Pricing. This transparent pricing model will expose the true costs of processing electronic payments, thus eliminating the potential for “after-the-fact”
rate increases by the processor. The processing rate you’re offered through the program will remain the same for the duration of your membership.
Program Features
Here are just a few of the features you’ll enjoy with this Pasadena Chamber of Commerce member benefit program:
• Pre-negotiated rates
• Transparent pricing model
• No unjustified cost increases
• No long-term contracts or cancellation penalties
• Dedicated, live customer service
• Discounts on ancillary products and services
How much can YOU save?
