MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD CHAIRMAN
MESSAGE FROM THE BOARD CHAIRMAN
AND PRESIDENT & CEO
Dear Community Supporters,
The economy continues to influence struggling families as
evidenced by the 25 percent increase in demand for services in
our Crisis Nursery over the past 2 years. Families come to us
with no formula to feed their babies, no family support systems
to help deal with overwhelming stress and virtually no where
else to turn. With over 6,000 admissions this past year, we
were there to provide safe and nurturing care for children while
parents searched for needed jobs, dealt with mental illness,
violence and the stresses of parenting, poverty and abuse.

With our focus on the developmental and educational growth of children, our Child Development
Program served 162 children this last year with 95% of those children exhibiting advancement toward
age-appropriate developmental milestones. What makes this program unique to other learning centers
is the wrap around services for parents. We provide families the tools to deal with stressful situations
which help prevent child abuse as well as skills to be good parents.
This leads to the tremendous focus Crittenton Centers is placing on strengthening families-- the critical
piece for sustainable change. Through our Family Services, parent participation has sky rocketed, to the
point that we have run out of building space to meet the increased demand. Our focus for this coming
year is to deepen and strengthen parent focused programs, resulting in stronger families with parents
taking responsibility for the health, safety and growth of their children.
As visitors have commented, “the children at Crittenton Centers are so happy and well behaved the staff are so caring and giving.” Your contributions, donations, volunteer hours, and support have
allowed us to create this environment, assisted us in providing high quality programming and allowed
us to meet the increased demand of families needing services - without a doubt, even saving lives.
We hope you will continue your support so we can continue to help our precious children!
With deepest appreciation,
Jay Glatz
