*The $1,500 WeddingMoons® Credit promotion is applicable only for new WeddingMoons® of 6 paid nights or longer in all room categories booked between

Turks & Caicos Wedding Documentation & Requirements
In order to be legally married in Turks & Caicos, there is documentation required as well as government requirements
in their country. Please read over these items carefully and advise us of any questions you may have.






















Residency requirement of 48 hours, which must include two (2) business days (days of arrival and weekends not included).
Example: Friday arrivals can be married on the following Wednesday. Monday arrivals can be married on Thursday.
State/County issued birth certificate AND copy of the driver’s license OR passport
All pages of all court certified final divorce decrees (if applicable). Divorce Decrees MUST have the following written: “Final
Decree”, “Final Judgment” or “Dissolution of Marriage” with legible court seal/stamp.
State/County issued death certificates with related marriage certificates (if applicable)
Legal name change or legal adoption documents (if applicable)
Two (2) Notarised/solicitor certified Affidavits of Spinstership/Bachelorhood, (a sworn statement indicating either party has
never been married) one to be mailed in and the other is to be hand carried to the resort with all other original documents.
Affidavits notarized/solicitor certified must be dated and notarized within 90 days prior to the wedding date (and expiry must
be after the wedding date).
An original notarized/solicitor certified sworn affidavit referring to documents specifically may also be provided to accompany
photocopies of documents (e.g. divorce decrees).
Please mail via courier service NOTARISED/SOLICITOR CERTIFIED PHOTOCOPIES (with the valid notary public’s/solicitor’s
original INK signature & stamp) of the required documents for both the bride and groom at least 60 DAYS prior to the arrival
date.
Original/Certified documents (from the court house or registry office) are also accepted, however, documents WILL NOT be

returned. As a 2 copy of all documents are also required locally, we urge not to send in originals unless you have two copies
nd
in your possession. . Original documents can be hand carried to resort or a 2 set of notarized/solicitor certified copies with
original ink stamp and signature.
A late fee of US$150 will apply for all documents received at 21 days or less prior to the arrival date
Couples must hand carry all original state issued and/or court certified documents with raised/embossed seals and stamps
plus 1 further set of notarized or certified copies of the Spinstership/Bachelorhood affidavits to resort.
All Documents for both bride & groom must be submitted with a completed Wedding Information Form.

What are the wedding sites on property?
Most of our resorts offer a beach, a garden and a gazebo location. The location is chosen at the time of your consultation at the

What flavours are available for the wedding cake?
You have a choice of vanilla, chocolate, Caribbean fruit or Red Velvet.
When will I receive my marriage certificate?
Your marriage certificate will be sent via air courier 8-10 weeks after your wedding. For European and non-UK guests, this process
may take additional time in order for further legalisation processes to be made via the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
What is the best way to travel with a wedding dress?
Any arrangement for transportation of a wedding dress should be discussed directly with your airline carrier.
Is there Tuxedo rental available in the island?
Unfortunately, we do not offer tuxedo rentals on resort; however some resorts have contact information for local formalwear
providers (varies by island). Keep in mind, due to the Caribbean climates, you may want to consider a light weight alternative for
the groom.
Can I hire local vendors such as photographers, caterers and décor providers for my wedding?
The use of third party vendors for photography or other services that are offered by Sandals is strictly prohibited.
Who will assist me with my wedding once I arrive?
The Resort Wedding Team will be anxious to meet you and will be instrumental in making your dream day a reality.
When do I finalise my wedding details?
Details should be finalised 45 days prior to arrival; your Wedding Planner will guide you through this process.
Is my wedding legal in the country where I reside?
Yes, the marriage is a legally binding marriage. You should inquire with your local government regarding name change
procedures, etc. For Europeans and guests outside of the UK, further legalisation may be required for the marriage certificate in
order for it to be legally recognised by your country. This must be requested via the wedding team, and Sandals & Beaches will
absorb the cost of this for the first marriage certificate (i.e. apostille/legalisation of marriage certificate only). Non UK guests
should check full requirements (additional documentation and processes) for legalisation prior to travel via their Town Hall
Registry and Embassy.
Can I get married at a different resort than where I am staying?
No, you must get married at the resort where you are staying.
Is there a fee for the use of a personal wedding planner?
No, at Beaches Resorts, every bride and groom have their own personal pre-wedding and resort wedding planners as part of the
complimentary WeddingMoon® inclusions.
What are the different types of ceremonies I can choose from for my wedding?
A non-denominational marriage officiant customarily presides over our wedding ceremonies, but if you wish to inquire about
having a non-religious ceremony or a religious ceremony, please talk to your wedding planner.
Are there any special inclusions for weddings with a group of rooms?
Beaches offer a number of exclusive inclusions for Wedding parties that have 5 rooms or more. Please contact our UK Groups
Department at +44 (0) 207 590-0228 (UK) to get more information.
Can I bring down my own wedding décor items and favours?
We would not recommend this as there are custom laws that will require you to pay taxes and duties on these items or they might
be confiscated if they are deemed as commercial items. If you decide to take items down with you please note that there is an
applicable set up fee. Please speak with your wedding planner for full details.
Are medical/or blood test required to get married?
No, the island of Turks & Caicos does not require a medical or blood test.
