These images feature dynamic colored shapes outlined in strong black, giving them an active sense of movement. Rebby Sharp is a recent Waynesboro resident who has lived in Virginia all her life, aside from several months overseas. She is self-employed as a private music teacher and has enjoyed making art as well as playing music. In Rebby’s own words: “Making these drawings has been like creating puzzles to solve. By making fairly ambiguous line drawings, the way areas are filled with color determines the subject and overall mood. They are slightly unspecific so that the viewer is involved with creating their meaning”. Ms. Sharp was very active in the late 1970’s through the early 1990’s in the art and music communities of Richmond, specifically the Richmond Artists’ Workshop (RAW). She is now a member of the Shenandoah Valley Art Center and has been enjoying the various community activities the area has to offer. Be sure to stop by the Art Gallery, before the end of March, to see the work of this very talented artist! Don’t forget to sign the Guestbook as the pages will be given to the artist at the end of the exhibit! This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' Matthew 22:37–39 When Jesus was asked about the greatest commandment he responded with the words above. Each of the Ten Commandments can easily be followed if you follow Jesus’ teachings. 1) Love God first 2) Love your neighbor as yourself. As Valentine’s Day approaches, let us focus on the unconditional love God has for each of us. When accepting this love from God, we are compelled to share His love with others. Happy Valentine’s Day! Our new Bible Study continues on women of the Old Testament. We have looked at Eve, “The Ultimate First Lady,” and Cain’s wife whom our author labels “a women who married trouble.” Join me in the First Floor Conference Room at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday in February as we study more interesting women that have played a crucial role in the story of our faith.
