Stockman just finished up his third breeding season here. Without a doubt, this
sire is the most prolific and dynamic sire that we’ve created or used at Crooked
Post. He combats the antagonisms of the various breeding traits so very well. It’s
been said that when making a genetic selection for improvement you should
only be concerned about making a significant change in one or two traits at a
time, that said Stockman seems to speed this process by being an improvement
sire for calving ease, growth, udder, scrotal, foot and skeletal structure, fleshing
and carcass qualities, de-horner, temperament, fertility and plain old eye appeal.
There’s a lot of desirable genetic triggers that can be pulled here, Stockman
sends a lot of lead down range! Thank you to Dr. Mario Damboriarena of Uruguay for recently importing
Stockman semen, the third Crooked Post sire to be utilized in the Estancia Santa
Maria herd in the last decade. A destination stop of the 2016 World Shorthorn
