Special Olympics Athlete Oath
He had a smile that would warm your heart. He was 39 years old when he passed away,
and in those 39 years he had a wonderful life.
Living with intellectual disabilities is not easy, but he made the best of it.
He took everyone at face value and considered everyone a friend. He worked hard
and enjoyed his free time. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox,
Special Olympics Area M, and his family and friends.
He participated in Special Olympics for 32 years. He earned over 100 medals and hundreds of ribbons.
He participated over the years in as many sports as he could: Athletics, Aquatics, Basketball, Bocce, Bowling,
Golf, Soccer, Softball, Tennis and even tried Powerlifting. Of course Baketball and Golf were his favorites.
He is a member of the Special Olympics Pennsylvania Hall of Fame - a well deserved honor.
Because of his love of Special Olympics Area M and his Area M family,
we host this Golf Outing in his memory.

This Golf Outing benefits Special Olympics Area M. Area M provides sports training and competition to special needs athletes in Dauphin,
Cumberland, Perry and Northern York Counties. The MISSION OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS is to empower individuals with intellectual disablilities to become
physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sprorts training and competition. In Area M, 20 sports are offered to the athletes
at absolutely no cost to the athletes or thier caregivers. This program is dedicated to improving the quality of life of the athletes they serve.
