Urged everyone to check it out. Our Car Show on Sept 26 needs more volunteers for committees. We have such a good core group but there is always need for more help. Makes everyone’s job that much easier. Sponsorship for classes will remain at $100/class. Think about committing to be at the show on that day to help in the huge task of having things operate smoothly. Autorama: March 13-15 So far there are about 12 members planning to show their cars. We will have a very good club display again this year. NEW BUSINESS: Tech day scheduling: Alfred explained how our Tech Days usually work and asked for any one that would like to have help with any problem to let him know and we will get help to be there on Tech Day. Also part of New Business is the Chapter picnic. Usually held in May. Further discussion prompted Greg Howerton to volunteer his place in Devine for either or. That led to discussion of combining the two functions and have a great afternoon in Devine. No decision made. The cruise masters, Louie and Carol Ames, again designed a great route and even thought the "Flowers" didn't show up this time it was great fun and a wonderful day to cruise. Troy and his wife Elvie joined Frank and I to accompany them. As you can see by the hoods up picture there usually is some kind of issue with one or more cars. This year both Pontiacs had some minor problems but all were taken care of and didn't miss a beat on the cruise. The stop at the Hye, TX post office turned mini market was the site for the rather obnoxiously named BBQ spices which of course I couldn't pass up taking a picture of. Also bought some Bull S--- Steak seasoning for our son and son-in-law. The tour took us down the very busy main street of Fredericksburg on the way to Porky's for fantastic burgers and onion rings. Ralph Gaines had his gorgeous convertible GTO. We drove our Road Warrior GP and Troy his 1987 Fiero. It was a super day all the way up until we arrived back in Seguin, were waiting at the red light at I 10 and Hwy 46 and got rear ended by a Chevy PU. The jolt was so hard it knocked out the cigarette lighter and the ash tray slid all the way out. Hard to explain the feelings and shock of that hit. First time ever that GP has been in a wreck and it made a wreck out of Frank. The good things about it are: the rear panels were not involved, the car is drivable and Grundy Ins. has taken good care of the claim. Couldn't ask for better service. As soon as we decide on a repair shop, sometime this week, we will get it taken care of. Very traumatic situation. Frank still has neck pain, slight tremor in right hand, dizziness and headaches from what the doctor called a mild concussion. The goose egg on back of my head went away in a few days. Has not hampered Frank's work in the shop, after about four days he was back at it. Continued on next page.
