Relief
Aixortà mountain range, oriented SW to NW, is bounded on its southern side with the
Guadalest Valley. It extends into the Serra de Serrella, which is separated by the Castell
canyon. It has a very rugged terrain and forms a typical landscape of limestone mountains
with strong karstification.
Itinerary
We start on the path to Guadalest towards Northwest, down to the Guadalest reservoir dam,
along the wall of the dam by a paved road. Further ahead in a crossing point, there are
signposts indicating the direction of the path PR-CV 18. Following the indication of our path,
we arrive at the foot of the Penyeta de l'Edra and then the hill of Castell. At this point we find
the two vertical signs of PR trails found in this hill. Following eastward we will reach the Font
dels Teixos, where we find a small shelter owned by the Regional Ministry of Environment.
From here we take a path that goes through a small ravine up to the summit of the Serra de
l’Aixortà.
