Light the Fire within
Hantesa Resident Camp
Mini Camp
$225/Camper
1st-4th grade
June 19-22, June 22-25,
June 26-29, June 29- July 2
Mini Camp is the perfect option for new campers who want to
experience resident camp for the first time. During each 4-day, 3-night
session, campers will explore Hantesa traditions and participate in the fun
activities camp has to offer including climbing, swimming, drama, sports,
games, an optional pony ride and more!
Traditional Camp
$460/Camper
1st-12th grade
Summer Camp Cup -- July 10-16
We will kick off resident camp by pitting unit against unit as they compete for
the Hantesa Summer Camp Cup! Compete in all camp games, cleanest cabin,
cook-offs, arts and crafts, and more, all for the glory, the points, and the prizes!
(Optional Saturday overnight, $70)
Summer Camp Mash-Up -- July 17-23
Capture the flag in canoes, paint the horses, fire hand-crafted arrows at archery,
and much more! This week we mash-up all of our favorite Hantesa crafts for a
week of new and exciting activities! (Optional Saturday overnight, $70)
WOHA Week -- July 19-25
“We welcome you to Hantesa, we’re mighty glad you’re here.” WOHA Week
features long time Hantesa traditions, some dating back to our founding in
1919. Learn camp stories, sing traditional camp songs, and participate in
Hantesa activities. Come learn our traditions and make memories and new
traditions of your own for Hantesa’s next 95 years.

Herman’s Ranch
$535/Camper
4th-12th grade
July 10-16, July 17-23, July 24-30
If horses are your passion, then Herman’s
Ranch is the perfect camp experience. Spend
the morning at the barn and the afternoon
participating in traditional camp activities.
Campers spend each day in English style riding
lessons honing riding skills and learning horse
science. Campers are assigned horses and given
instruction by our experienced staff based on
riding level. Beginners to advanced riders are
welcome!
(Optional Saturday overnight, $70)
Outpost
7th-12th grade
Equestrian Outpost -- July 31-August 6
$575/Camper
If you love horses, then this is a trip you won’t want to miss. Spend four days
and three nights trail riding and camping at Brushy Creek Recreation Area
and the rest of the week at Camp Hantesa. Spend time trail riding with horse
maintenance during the day and traditional camping at night.
Canoe Outpost -- August 7-13
$480/Camper
Combine your love of the outdoors, water, and camping on this exciting canoe
trip. Spend four days and three nights at one of Iowa’s premiere canoeing
locations and the rest of the week at Camp Hantesa with our qualified staff.

Teen Leadership
Leadership Challenge & Buckaroo
9th-10th grade
June 19-July 2 $565/camper
During this 2 week overnight camp,
campers begin to define themselves
as leaders at camp and in life.
Activities include team challenges,
studying mentoring styles, developing
citizenship through service learning,
and interacting as role models with
younger campers. Similarly, Buckaroos
begin working on their leadership and
horsemanship skills. Buckaroos spend time at Herman’s Ranch, developing
their teaching abilities and horse knowledge as well as increasing their riding
skills. (Optional Saturday overnight, $70)
Outdoor Living Skills Program
9th-12th grade
July 31-August 13
$575/camper
OLS is an intensive 2 week program at camp where participants will live,
sleep, and eat in the outdoors. The first week the campers will participate in
thoughtfully planned lessons geared to enhance leadership and outdoor skills.
The second week of the program the campers will participate in a week-long
backpacking outpost trip off property as well as several carefully crafted lessons
and activities to prepare them for the trip. (Optional Saturday overnight, $70)
Apprentice & Wrangler
11th- 12th grade
July 5-30 $590/camper
The Apprentice and Wrangler program at Camp Hantesa is a service-oriented,
four-week program that readies high school students for future leadership roles.
Typical apprenticeships are two summers in
length. Both programs build on leadership,
communication, program delivery skills, and
allow live-ins in units to learn directly from
our exceptional staff. Wranglers also spend
part of their time at the barn and conduct
their live-ins at Herman’s Ranch. (Optional
Saturday overnight, $70)
