Plus, no corkage fee on any Columbia Gorge wine you bring. THE SOLSTICE STORY Aaron and I fired up our Mugnaini wood fire oven at our original location in Bingen, Wash in February of 2007. Our son Jenner was one. The Community embraced our desire to create great food and a truly welcoming spot for EVERYONE who enters: children, windsurfers, fruit packers, farmers, tourists, wine maniacs, bikers, boaters, foodies, movers & shakers — you name it. Our son Rune joined our family in August of 2008. In 2011, we designed and built our first mobile wood fire pizza oven for catering, events & fundraisers. We added a second one in 2012 and in Dec. of 2013, with huge support from our beloved community through Kickstarter, we built this new restaurant and moved to Hood River. MISSION Solstice is a family-friendly venue where our passions co-exist under one roof. We serve inventive, seasonal and organic food in a beautiful space at a fair price. We believe in sourcing food from local farmers and purveyors we know and respect. We go beyond serving to focus on issues for the higher good; a flourishing local economy, farmer advocacy, hunger eradication, education & literacy, and environmental stewardship.
