Howard and Lorraine Shore

the newest member of their

Lilla Enebys Xip'Xperia!
Lady Arrives from Sweden
This photo is “Lady”, Lilla Enebys
Xip'Xperia, enjoying her toys after
her 12 hours of flying which she
handled like a pro! Lady was calm,
quiet and such a good girl to potty
in Sweden and Amsterdam while
waiting for the flights so her Sherpa bag was nice and clean when
we landed:-)
Congratulations to HRKC’s Vice President!

each of these locations.
Treasurer’s Report: Ron Fye reported on the current balances and expenses.
Secretary’s Report: The secretary reported receiving the following: (1) Letter from the State of Washington
acknowledging receipt and filing of HRKC registration documents re Charitable Solicitations Act, (2) and a
thank you letter from Paul Becker, President of Jefferson Humane Society Country acknowledging receipt of
the Club’s $150 donation.
We also discussed having an “In Memory of” column in the newsletter to list those canine friends who went
to the Rainbow Bridge during the year.
Agility Trials
Nancy Tinker reported that the new 26” tunnels and pause table have been ordered.
There was also discussion about the wing/double bar changes. Nancy will check to see if our jumps can be
revised so that we are in compliance with AKC changes.
Nancy will follow-up on holders for the 26” tunnels.
We also need to change the markings on the tire jump per AKC changes.
All Breed Show
Joe Larson reported that AKC has been advised that we will not allow bassett hounds to be entered at the
2012 show as requested by the Bassett Hound Club.
We discussed offering puppy classes.
Offering the CERF clinic in 2012 was also discussed.
We are on the wait list for the Sequim banner. We have secured a spot for the Port Angeles banner.
Awards
Continued discussion re offering different awards including handmade glass work, gift cards, etc.
Does amount of donation need to be exact amount of award or can awards cost less with the balance of the
donation being used to offset other expenses such as flowers, etc.
Old Business Nancy Tinker called AKC to confirm that any proposed changes to the bylaws must be submitted to AKC.
Respectfully submitted,

HRKC has a Rescue Referral only. We do not board rescued
dogs.
The Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club of
Washington (HRKC) supports reputable
breeders of purebred dogs and promotes
responsible pet ownership. We encourage all pet buyers to research the various
breeds to determine the one that is right
for their lifestyle. We encourage all pet
buyers to understand that there are inherited genetic traits in dogs that may impact
health, longevity and temperament. The
pet buyer should understand the financial
commitment associated with pet ownership.
If you are considering a cross-bred dog,
research the characteristics and health
issues of each breed and their ancestry.
Many unsuspecting pet buyers purchase
animals that inherit health problems from
both its sire and dam’s respective breeds.
Mixed breed dogs can now be registered
with the American Kennel Club (AKC) and,
, the AKC provides venues in HRKC
events to include mixed breed dogs to
compete and be titled in AKC performance
sports, e.g., agility and obedience.
Members are encouraged to do so as an individual project.
