et a bunch of friends together (who like to golf), put
up some cash, dedicate it to a good cause and have a
great day on the golf course. What do you have? The NONAME Golf Tournament! This event, held recently (in Corona, CA, at the Green Valley Golf Club) was the brain
child of WAPADH family member Tom Miller and his
friend Harry Wilson. Tom’s brother John is supported by
WAPADH. The money raised with this tournament was
donated to WAPADH and will be used for adaptive recreational programs for consumers. We are very thankful for
the thoughtfulness and generosity of all those who
participated in this event. Here’s to all you duffers out

n order to promote more creative volunteer
opportunities within our community, Delta
Services has developed the Volunteer Leadership Group. The new collective began in
March and aims to help WAPADH consumers
explore new and innovative ways to give back

over the years. New jobs include Rabbit
Rescue, Beagles and Buddies, and the
Whittier Narrows Nature Center. In addition to individual volunteer jobs, the
club will also plan one large group public
service event each quarter.
On April 22, the Volunteer Leadership
Group partnered with the Surfrider Foundation for a beach clean up in honor of
Earth Day. WAPADH had 31 participants join other volunteers to help clean
up Bolsa Chica State Beach. It was a
great chance for everyone to take a break
from their regular routines, socialize with
friends, and help clean up the environment.
