Since 1988, World Education Program (WEP) has been driven by the same
motto : learn & discover the world ! It has already changed the lives of thousands of young people who have travelled around the globe on all kinds of
educational programs and projects.
At WEP, we strongly believe in the infinite enrichment of a better

international educational experiences ranging from intensive language

The country
An exchange program to France is an opportunity to immerse yourself
in a culture that has influenced the western world for hundreds of years.
The French are very proud of their contributions to art, literature, philosophy, architecture, food and wine, sports and film. From the Alps near the
Italian and Swiss borders to the forest covered Vosges Mountains in the
northeast, the Pyrénées along the Spanish border and the beaches on
the Mediterranean, France offers breathtaking scenery.

Terms of participation
Participants will live with a French family. Like family members they will
share the family’s everyday life, participate in activities and adapt to the
family rules as if it were their own.
The French educational system is one of the most thorough in the world.
Expectations are high towards the students. Participants will attend
classes at a local lycée from Monday to Friday. These include French,
Mathematics, Biology, Geography, Physics, History, Physical Education,
Foreign Language (English, German, Spanish or Italian)… and optional
classes include Economics or a second Foreign Language. The school
year runs from September to June.

• Have a minimum of 2 years of French lessons
• Have travel insurance covering sickness, accidents, repatriation and third party liability

The country
Belgium is where Europe comes together. Belgium is a compact country
nestled between Germany, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and
the North Sea. The cosmopolitan nature of Brussels, capital of the European community, has created a tolerant and welcoming attitude towards
foreigners. Belgians are known for being humble and welcoming, with
a great sense of humour. There is more to Belgium than chocolate and
waffles, it is the scene of a very rich cultural past (painting, architecture)
and thrilling present day artistic creativity (exhibitions, music, fashion,
comic books, theatre…).

Participants will live with a Belgian family. Like family members they will

Activities
Learn French within a group of international students in the area of Paris!
During the first two weeks, participants follow morning classes with an
experienced teacher from Monday to Friday and take part in activities
and sightseing in the afternoon. The entire day on Wednesday is dedicated to a cultural trip. During the third week (optional) participants will
stay with their host family only. They will have the opportunity to familiarize with the French language, culture and lifestyle!
The whole of Wednesday and every other afternoon are dedicated to
activities and cultural excursions in the area. Participants discover beautiful Paris and its cultural treasures such as the Musée du Louvre, the
Musée d’Orsay, Notre-Dame, the Eiffel Tower…They have the opportunity to wander in the charming Montmartre, admire the Château de
Versailles, and have a fun day in Disneyland Paris!

Participants stay in a host family. Living with the locals is the best way to

Culture

most efficient way to make significant language progress in a short period of time. One of the host parents is an experienced teacher and he/
she provides the participant with one to one language lessons everyday.
The lessons are specifically adapted to the needs of the participants,
who will be learning and practicing as they take part in the social life of
the family.

Program
Available in France, Belgium and Italy, the “Language Buddy” program
offers the opportunity for participants to become a conversation friend
in a local family while sharing their everyday life. They may speak to one
or several family members in order to help them improve their language
skills through conversation. The participant may also have to assist them
with their homework. The amount of time dedicated to conversations
should be 15 hours/week. It is also possible to spend one month with
families in two different locations in the country.
The program is open to English, French, German or Spanish speakers.
Other languages depend on specific demand (Italian, Dutch, Chinese,
Japanese...).
Accommodation / meals / duration
Participants stay with a volunteer host family who provide them with full
board and a single room in exchange of their conversations with a family
member. The program is available all year round.
• Have English/French/German/Spanish as mother tongue (other languages on demand)
• Have a good knowledge of French / Italian for communication
• Be a graduate or currently enrolled in Higher Education / University, in
an education-related field
• Relevant experience is a bonus

Program
The aim of the program is to introduce language assistants to Italian
High Schools and encourage the meeting of different cultures. It is organized in cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Education. The language assistant will be shadowing Italian teachers during school classes
for 15/18 hours per week (spread over 5 or 6 days depending on the
school) which will give the participant the chance to learn about the Italian Education. It is without doubt a useful international job experience
that will enhance the personal CV (curriculum vitae). Additionally it is a
good opportunity for participants to develop communication/teaching
skills and learn some basics of Italian. There is no financial compensation but participants will receive room and board. An orientation of 2
days will be organised upon arrival. Participants are placed in the Region
of Piedmont (north of Italy), with mountains at 1 hour and the seaside at
45 minutes... Turin is home of Fiat, Ferrero, Pininfarina and much more !
Participants stay with a volunteer host family, in a single room with full
board.

Program
Live an eco friendly experience and integrate a team of volunteers to
discover the rich French fauna and flora. Projects deal with different aspects of environmental protection so as to safeguard biodiversity. They
focus on caring for endangered or injured species, especially wild birds,
building gates/fences in natural reserves, restoring natural sites, making
people aware of the importance of eco-friendliness. Working as a volunteer is looking for a fulfilling commitment, taking part in teamwork,
promoting a cause and enriching your experience with new knowledge.
The work can be physically demanding and generally occurs in remote
regions. Some bird centres can be in urban areas too. Volunteers will
work 5 or 6 days a week for about 4 or 6 hours a day, as needed. The
remaining time is time to relax and discover the area.
Volunteers are accommodated in bungalows, mobile homes, host families... Meals are not included in the program, but can be prepared on
site. Food sharing between volunteers is the usual rule.

Program
Spend a few weeks in France by helping vulnerable elderly people and
make your time abroad a useful one. Sometimes it’s the little things that
count – a nice smile, a cup of tea, a trip to the shops.. and you brighten
someone’s day ! The program offers a unique opportunity to work as
a volunteer in a not for profit organization for senior citizens. The program is meant to bridge a gap between generations and enable socially
isolated people of 50 years old and over, with low income, to maintain
a social network. Some are mobility-impaired people (in a wheelchair).
Volunteers who like spending time with others, could make a huge difference to someone’s life !
2 options
• Volunteer holiday leader :
You will be part of a volunteer team (one elderly person for one volunteer)
and you will spend 10 to 15 days in a holiday residence (seaside, mountains, countryside) with a group of 10 to 20 people. You will take part in
the activities and visits and help around the participants for meals and
daily tasks (doing the dishes, pushing a wheelchair…).
• Volunteer coordinator in a major French city :
You will spend 1 month in Paris, Toulouse, Marseille, Lille…Your work
involves spending a couple of hours with isolated people to cheer up
their day or take them on an outing, keeping them company for a few
hours in their home, helping with practical tasks like shopping and basic
cooking…This will be carried out under the supervision and help of a
permanent team from the local organization.
Volunteer holiday leader : volunteers wil stay in the same holiday residence as the elderly people. They will share a room and bath room with
other volunteers. All meals are included.
Volunteer coordinator : volunteers will stay in an indiviudal room on a
university campus or in a small appartment in a major city. Food vouchers
are included for lunch. Breakfast and diner are to be organised by the
volunteer. There are shared kitchen facilities.

Program
Get the opportunity to learn about the Italian culture by working in a
summer camp in the historical city of Torino or in the wonderful mountains of Piedmont. The camp counselors will arrange fun language activities for children/teenagers and they will teach simple things in English
by spending time together playing and talking. The camps arrange sport
activities with specific sport leaders. While the camp counselors are
there to improve the children’s language skills they do not need to be
sport trainers, but just assist during the sport activities. The camp counselor program is open only to native English speakers.
Accommodation / meals / duration
Participants will be in a residential camp in the mountains or in a hotel.
Both the residential camp and the day camp will provide full board and
double room accommodation (sharing with other camp counselors/WEP
leaders/sport leaders according to their sex). The programs are available
in June/July.
• Be a native English speaker
• Be a graduate or currently enrolled in Higher Education/University,
preferable in an education-related field but not compulsory
• Be active, love staying with children and love outdoor activities

Program
If tertiary students are looking for an internship in France or in Belgium,
WEP can organize it for them. In Belgium, the program is also available
for university graduates. An internship (unpaid) is provided that matches
the professional field related to participant’s studies. Participants will
develop their professional and language skills while they gain an insight
into the local working environment and specific culture.
For France only :
Accommodation is not included in the cost of the program, but it can
be organized in a homestay family (with half board during the week and
full board on the weekends). The cost of a homestay is 600 € / month.

(mandatory internship agreement approved by the school/university).

Program
WEP offers participants the opportunity of work experience in the French
hospitality field. They have the choice between a placement in hotels/
restaurants or camping sites. As interns they may work at the reception
desk, in the restaurant/dining area or in housekeeping/gardening (max.
35h/week). The hotel provides interns with accommodation, full board
and laundry service. The campsites provide interns with accommodation and laundry service but no food. If the participant chooses a 2 or
3 months program, he gets a monthly allowance (+/- 400 € per month).
