A franciák legnagyobb nemzeti ünnepe, július 14. alkalmából őexc. Roland Galharague, a Francia Köztársaság nagykövete, nagyszabású fogadást adott a rezidencián, mintegy 500
vendég részvételével. Három nyelven elmondott beszédében a
nagykövet hangsúlyozta: „A magyar–francia barátság jól van.
Az elmúlt évben erősítettük a politikai és gazdasági kapcsolatainkat. Közös kultúránk vitalitását több sikeres rendezvény
bizonyította Párizsban és Budapesten.” Felhívta továbbá a figyelmet, hogy hasznos emlékezni arra, hogy a béke és a biztonság az Európai Uniónak köszönhető, hogy egységben az erő és
a megosztottság halálos. Az unió alapja a tisztelet: különbségeink tisztelete, a jogállam tisztelete, a jog tisztelete. „Hisszük,
hogy a jövőnk nagymértékben az Európai Unión nyugszik. Az
összefogás a siker titka, s a válság legyőzéséhez még több Európára van szükség” – zárta szavait a nagykövet.

Roland Galharague French Ambassador to Hungary gave a
grand reception attended by some 500 guests. In his speech,
which he recited in three languages, the Ambassador emphasised:
“Hungarian-French friendship is fine. In the past year we have
strengthened our political and economic relations. The vitality
of our mutual culture was also proved by many successful events
both in Paris and in Budapest.” In addition the Ambassador
highlighted it was worth remembering that peace and security
is due to the European Union, that strength is in unity and
divisions can be lethal. The basis of the Union is respect: respect
for the differences, the government of laws and the law. “We do
believe that our future is greatly based on the European Union.
Joining forces is the key to success, and to conquer the crisis we
need even more of Europe.” – the Ambassador concluded.
