ATI ARCHITECTS + ENGINEERS FRESH & EASY CAMPUS MEATS Riverside, California 2 Sisters Food Group is a United Kingdom – based food processor. In 2007, they were selected by Fresh & Easy Markets to provide a meat and poultry processing facility to serve F&E’s global expansion. They requested a functionally efficient building with a signature design to herald their entry into the United States market. We created a bold statement for the offices and entry that was within their budget requirements for the exterior design. The project includes shipping, receiving, cold and frozen storage, cooking, breading, processing, packaging, and at the time, 2SFG’s US corporate offices. Overall project size is 111,000 sf. In 2011, Fresh & Easy bought out the 2SFG U.S. operations, and renamed the facility Fresh & Easy Campus Meats. It continues to provide cooked and ready-to-eat meat and poultry servings for Fresh & Easy Markets throughout the western United States. ATI ARCHITECTS + ENGINEERS SYSCO FOOD SERVICES Riverside, California ATI performed architectural and engineering services for the Main West Coast distribution facility for Sysco Food Services. Features of this project include: • • • • New dock openings and dock hardware New and renovated offices New coolers and freezers High-piled storage compliance upgrades ATI ARCHITECTS + ENGINEERS LINEAGE LOGISTICS AGUA MANSA DISTRIBUTION CENTER Colton, California ATI provided master planning, entitlements, bid package, and oversaw the bidding and selection of a Design-Build General Contractor for Lineage on their new distribution facility in Colton, California. The overall facility is 420,000 sf, and includes a cross-dock area, a partitioned convertible and freezer area, banana ripening rooms, and minimal dry storage. Temperatures vary from -20 degrees to ambient. Construction is of concrete tilt-up walls at primary employee and visitor entrances. The balance of the facility features exterior insulated metal panel walls over a steel frame. All areas of potentially different temperatures are structurally separate for maximum thermal and vapor separation. ATI ARCHITECTS + ENGINEERS LINEAGE LOGISTICS HUNTER PARK DISTRIBUTION CENTER Riverside, California The Riverside facility, located in Hunter Park, is the second facility ATI has worked on for Lineage Logistics (formerly Castle & Cooke). ATI provided all of the thermal design (insulation, doors, vapor and thermal detailing) for this 504,000 sf cold- and frozen-storage project on a pre-permitted building. The facility is operated as a 3PL food distribution center and handles over 300 trucks per day in and out of the site. Interior features include fully-refrigerated docks, partitioned convertible rooms varying between -20° and +45°, and dry and wet areas. ATI ARCHITECTS + ENGINEERS NATURE’S BEST COOLER ROOM Flower Mound, Texas Work on this project included 3 phases enclosing various areas in the existing warehouse with insulated metal panels to be used for a new 60 degree seasonal cooler, 34 degree coolers, and -10 degree freezers. The master plan included future phases for expanded presses, expanded offices, and a parking structure. This project was designed by Rick Coleman, R.A. ATI ARCHITECTS + ENGINEERS IKEA DISTRIBUTION WAREHOUSE Tejon Ranch, California IKEA is the world’s leading provider of furniture. The distribution center which serves the Western United States, was located in southern Kern County, south of Bakersfield, CA, on the Tejon Ranch. The proximity to the Los Angeles Basin and the San Francisco Bay Area made this location ideal. The facility boasts over 1.7 million sf under one roof, including 30,000 sf of offices, and has over ½ mile of excess of 270 truck dock positions. The site includes a nearly 1.5:1 ratio of trailer storage stalls to dock doors. At the time of construction, the project was the largest single concrete tilt-up distribution building in the world. In addition, tilt-up panels at the high-bay areas extended 75’ from top of footings to top of parapet, making them some of the tallest concrete panels in the world without intermediate floors. The facility interior clearances ranges from 35’ in loading dock areas, 40’ in the main warehouse, up to 60’ in selected high-bay portions. Lift equipment includes conventional loading dock pallet jacks and fork-lifts, extended-mast turret trucks, and in high-bay areas high-speed ASRS stacker cranes on roof-and floor-mounted guide rails.
