Attention Current PLNU Parents!
PLNU’s Parent Connection
was established eight
years ago to serve as a link
between parents and the
university. Parent Connection
offers special events, an
e-newsletter, and a Web site,
www.pointloma.edu/parents,
where you can find information
on discounted hotels, send
your student a dessert on his
or her birthday through the
Women’s Auxiliary, learn about
contributing to the Student
Emergency Fund, and more.
The Parent Connection is
spearheaded by the Parent
Council, a group of six to 10
families committed to keeping
you connected. The Parent
Council helps plan New Student
Orientation (NSO), Parent
Weekend, and Grandparent
Weekend. After eight years
of service, Parent Council
presidents Scott and Shelly

in May along with their
daughter, Katie. Also in May,

A Celebration of

Math and Sciences
N
early 50 years ago, Dr. Val Christensen arrived at Pasadena College. As chair
of the Science and Mathematics Division, Christensen played a pivotal role in
recruiting the outstanding faculty who would succeed in transforming PLNU
into one of the nation’s premier Christian institutions for science, mathematics, and
computer science education.
On Friday, Nov. 20, 2009, as part of PLNU’s Homecoming Weekend, hundreds of
alumni and former faculty will join with current PLNU faculty and students in
celebrating 50 years of mathematics and science at PLNU. Plan to take part in this
once in a lifetime celebration! For more information, contact Dr. Michael McConnell
at [email protected].
