It’s a great way to learn, practice and consolidate knowledge about sounds and letters. Attention Guitar Players!!!!! For early readers: PLEASE SAY “I spy with my little eye something beginning with the sound b” (as in Boab) NOT “I spy with my little eye something beginning with the letter B” (as in bee) It is vital for early reading development that children are able to hear the actual sound made/heard-not just become familiar with the name of the letter which represents that sound/ HAPPY “I SPYING”!! Thanks to Ms Naomi, the school has now got 8 shiny new guitars that are a perfect size for kids to learn some guitar chords and some basic tunes on. The Year 3/4/5 class have already experimented with them! Throughout Term 1 on Monday nights students are invited to stay after school for 30 minutes to practise and share their guitar skills. As we only have 8 guitars we are limited to having only 8 students at one time. The guitar sessions are open to guitar players of all abilities and the guitars are provided to use at school. If you are wanting to have free guitar lessons and join our club, see Mr Danny during school hours. What: Guitar lessons When: Every Monday afternoon After school during Term 1.
