CCAI IN TOUCH NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2015 IN TOUCH Volume 20 Number 8 The information in the In Touch is intended for the sole use of CCAI families. To protect the privacy of our families and safeguard the operation of this agency, please do not transmit this information, in any form, outside of the “CCAI family.” CCAI’s Winter China Hosting Program is Underway! Many orphans grow up in orphanages with little or no opportunity to experience the meaning of a family. Older orphans in China ages 5 to 13, especially those with medical conditions, are often forgotten. The good news is that CCAI’s China Hosting Program allows some of these orphans the opportunity to live with American families for 3 weeks over the winter holiday. Hosting is ideal for families with a heart for changing the life of an orphan. Without hosting, many of these orphans will age out and never experience the life changing love that a family provides. Have YOU ever considered hosting an older child from China? There are many reasons why families host a child. Maybe you are interested in adopting an older child, or maybe you want to advocate on the child’s behalf. Whatever your reason is, the hosting experience will create a lasting impact on a child, as well as on your own family! Some families ultimately want to adopt the child they host, and find that this is a great opportunity, as it eases the transition if the child already knows the family that is adopting him/her. Other families host a child in order to advocate for the child, which allows interested prospective adoptive families the opportunity to talk with the host family and meet the child during the hosting period. As a result of hosting, many older children are adopted that otherwise may not have been. This winter CCAI has more than 30 orphans ages 5 to 13 available for hosting! Profiles will begin to be posted next week, so please watch CCAI’s website for more news and information about how to register to view the photo listing. This summer the China hosting program helped to bring 32 orphans from China to the US, and as a result of hosting, more than half of these children are already being adopted! The children spent four amazing weeks with their host families going to movies, swimming, visiting the zoo, going to parks, visiting the beach, playing with toys, playing games, playing with their host family’s pets, and just hanging out with their host family. The children all had a great time! If you would like to learn more about the hosting program for this winter, please email [email protected] or call 303-850-9998 x42. Please consider hosting this winter and make a difference in the life of a child! www.ccaifamily.org CCAI IN TOUCH NEWSLETTER AUGUST 2015 Waiting Child Match Statistics In July, the CCCWA released 63 Waiting Children’s files designated to CCAI, 28 girls and 35 boys; 17 LID-only and 46 Special Focus.
