/About At the Spring Research School you will be given
the chance to interact with researchers from a wide
range of backgrounds and cultures, who are working in
different areas. You will be given a unique opportunity
to exchange insights and debate opinions, form
friendships and expand your network of contacts. Young
researchers will be able to immerse themselves in the
Portuguese culture, while experiencing its education
system and political and culture institutions. Moreover,
they will be exposed to a cultural and academic
dynamic of Latin-American studies, focusing on
Iberian issues, as well institutions and research studies
who share the same scientific interests on this subject.
Lastly, you will experience the enlightened city of
Lisbon, walk its ancient streets and explore its quaint
neighbourhoods.

/About Observatório Político [Political Observatory]
is a non-profit research association dedicated to the
field of political studies. The Political Observatory was
created in 2009 by the Scientific Council of the Faculty of
Social Sciences and Humanities of the New University of
Lisbon. The development of a wide range of academic
and scientific activities (research projects, exchange
programs, seminars and conferences, publication
of the Portuguese Political Science Review) led the
Political Observatory to acquire an autonomous
status working in cooperation with a considerable
number of other Portuguese universities. With 27 PhD
researchers and 60 associated researchers, the Political
Observatory has now almost 200 associated members,
who collaborate in the development of study and
analysis of national and world politics.
/Mission Publication of Portuguese Journal of
Political Science; Internationalization of research
in BA, MA and PhD levels; Creation of a network of
international research projects and trans-disciplinary
groups.
/Main

/About Founded in 1990, the Sam Nunn School of
International Affairs (GATECH, Georgia USA) enrols
more than 500 students in its Bachelor of Science,
professional Masters, and research-focused doctoral
programs. Twenty-two full-time faculty members teach
and conduct research on a broad array of topics with
a particular focus on how technological innovations
affect national security, economic competitiveness,
and prospects for international cooperation and
conflict.
/Mission The School envisions three clear and
challenging missions in the years ahead: 1) educating
the next generation of scientists, engineers, and
policy specialists for careers in public service and
the private and non-profit sectors; 2) producing and
disseminating research that informs policy; and 3)
sponsoring public programs that examine and offer
innovative solutions to critical issues facing the state,
region, and world.
/Research groups The School is also home to
two active Centers: 1) the Center for International
Strategy, Technology, and Policy – a policy-relevant,
action-oriented, research center; and 2) the European
Union Center of Excellence – a scholarly research and
outreach organization.
