Vision Statement
The Joseph Assignment Global Initiative is a global humanitarian organization that transforms the
lives of the world’s poorest children and their families through sustainable initiatives.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to impact the lives of the world’s poorest children and their families by addressing
their educational, economic and physical needs through collaborative initiatives which leverage
resources necessary to stimulate systemic development.
Foundational Beliefs
Every human being deserves to live in a safe and clean home, to become economically self-sufficient,
and to have access to quality healthcare and clean water.
Just because people are born into poverty, does not mean they are destined to a life of poverty.
Compassion must be followed by action that cultivates change and promotes holistic living.
Through collaborative initiatives, we can leverage the resources necessary to stimulate educational and
economic opportunities for the poor.
We remain accountable to our supporters and committed to operating with integrity, transparency and
compassion.
We are committed to employing green technology and ecosystem preservation methods throughout
our community development blueprint.

Outcomes
for 2013
We extend our sincerest gratitude to committed
supporters like you. Though 2013 presented
multiple financial challenges, our faithful
donors continued their support as The Joseph
Assignment moved forward to fulfill its promise
to the people it serves. By sending 100% of
your donations to our local partners on the
ground who implement our initiatives, we were
able to change the lives of more than 32,000
individuals living in extreme poverty. THANK
YOU!
Impact To-Date
The Joseph Assignment has become the
main service providers in several communities around the world where the government is unable to fulfill its traditional
role. The Joseph Assignment is more than
just an organization with ‘gap-filling’ initiatives, we build developmental capacities within actual communities and help
the residents to empower themselves.
With your help, our initiatives address
extreme poverty directly at the source.
Using 100% of your donated funds
for our initiatives makes this possible.

Core Areas of Service
Education
• 134 million children between the ages of 7 to 18 have never been to school.
• Girls are more likely to go without schooling than boys.
• Children are more likely to be forced into child labor if they are not attending school.
Providing quality education is the key to keeping young women off the streets and preventing
children from becoming child laborers.
Health Care
• Measles, malaria, and diarrhea are three of the biggest killers of children.
• More than 30 million children are not immunized against treatable or preventable diseases.
• 1-in-4 children who die before age 5, die of water-related diseases.
• Diarrheal diseases kill five times as many children in the developing world as HIV/AIDS.
Proper nutrition and healthcare save lives and significantly reduce the spread of communicable
and treatable diseases and their effects on children and their families.
Food Security
• Malnutrition is a contributing factor in more than half of all deaths worldwide.
• 2.6 million children die as a result of hunger-related causes.
• About 21,000 people die every day of hunger or hunger-related causes.
• Every 10 seconds, a child dies from hunger-related diseases.
• Children who are malnourished suffer illness up to 160 days of out 365 days each year.
We provide necessary resources, technical expertise, and guidance to local farmers. We focus on
sustainability, increased yields and increasing self-determined quality of life for the farmers and
their families.
8
Clean Water
• Nearly 1.1 billion people do not have safe water to drink.
• A child dies every 15 seconds from unclean water.
• 2.3 million children die before age 5, due to water-related diseases.
• Children often walk miles every day to collect dirty water to drink.
• 2.6 billion people lack adequate sanitation services.
No one should die from drinking contaminated water when clean water is only 100 feet below
the surface. We provide fresh and clean water by digging wells in communities that are desperate for safe drinking water.
Orphans and Vulnerable Children
• A staggering 53,100,000 orphaned children live in Sub-Sahara Africa. In India, approximately
12,400,000 orphans and almost 40,000,000 vulnerable children are in need.
• An estimated 6,000 children are orphaned by AIDS everyday.
• Children account for half of all civilian war casualties in Africa.
We work to raise the awareness of the drastic despair that orphans face daily. We educate
individuals and corporations on how we can collaboratively address these needs and make an
impact by providing for the world’s orphans and vulnerable children.
Shelter
• More than 1 billion people are living in unsafe and improvised living conditions.
• In most shelters, 5 to 12 people share one 10' x 10' room.
• The structural quality is very poor and dangerous in most thatch and clay homes.
• Poor housing means diseases spread more rapidly.
As we improve living conditions, we reduce the time burden of women and children, enabling
them to attend school. By providing more sanitary living conditions we can minimize the spread
of communicable diseases.

Urgent Alert:
The Ebola Crisis
The Joseph Assignment has made a commitment to maintain a consistent presence on the
ground in the countries confronted by Ebola, until it has been contained and cured. But as we all
know, this is a tremendous undertaking and its impossible for us, as an organization, or for us, as a
nation, to face this formidable task alone. Our president has asked the world to respond by acting
swiftly to end this epidemic at its core within the boundaries of West Africa. To date, the Joseph
Assignment has sent more than 250 pallets of supplies, equipment, PPE Kits and other critical
items to assist with the fight to contain, control, treat and cure this deadly virus.
Ongoing and eminent
Until the virus is eliminated, it will continue to be an eminent threat to people around the
world. The Joseph Assignment is asking you and everyone you know to join us as we work with local
government and concerned individuals worldwide to help us fight until those countries infected
are free and no longer living their worst nightmares. With us, you can make a difference... We
mobilize our efforts quickly, and we can guarantee our effectiveness on the ground. Join the Joseph
Assignment Global Initiative as we do our part in ensuring that mothers will hold their babies
again, families are saved and lives are put back together again.
Our donors’ interests always come first. Our experience shows that if we serve our donors
well, the lives of the people they seek to transform will benefit accordingly.
10
When the news of the Ebola crisis hit, The
Joseph Assignment sprang into action. We
had, and still have, one goal in mind…
Contain and CURE Ebola

Education
The latest edition of the Global Education Digest reveals the urgent need to address
the high number of children repeating grades and leaving school before completing
primary or lower secondary education. New data from the UNESCO Institute
for Statistics (UIS) show that about 32.2 million primary pupils were held back a
grade and 31.2 million dropped out of school and may never return.
ECONOMIC GROWTH
Greater job opportunities, stronger national economic development. No country has achieved
continuous growth with less than 40% adult literacy rate.
HIGHER WAGES
For every year of additional education, boys will earn 10% higher wages, while girls will earn
25% higher wages.
GENDER EQUALITY
Increased wages for women to support families. Promotes fewer child marriages and lessens
child slave labor.
IMPROVED HEALTH
Educated youth are 57% less likely to contract HIV.
Facts On Education
■
■
■
In Sub-Saharan Africa, over 56 million people aged 15 to 24 have not even completed
primary school, and 22 million teenagers are out of secondary school.
33 million primary school-aged children in Sub-Saharan Africa do not go to school. 18
million of these children are girls.
Young people living in rural areas with no schooling are two and a half times more likely
to earn just $1.25 per day (less than those who have completed secondary education).
■ In Sub-Saharan Africa, only two-thirds of children who start primary school reach the
final grade.
■ For
every 10 children who start school in Sub-Saharan Africa, 4 drop out due to an
increasing rise in poverty and wide-spread compounding disadvantages.

The JA Method
The Joseph Assignment is a worldclass nonprofit organization, dedicated to
increasing the life value of every person
we touch. Our core values were crafted
from a deep sense of relativity. We truly
believe just because people are born into
poverty, does not mean they are destined
to a life of poverty.
The term poor refers to an economic
condition, but the circumstances and
causes associated with those conditions
are complex. The unfortunate condition
of poverty is sometimes associated with
oppression, isolation and injustice, all of
which The Joseph Assignment strategically
develops specific plans to address the
causes related to extreme poverty.
1.2 billion people still live in
extreme poverty —
on less than $1.25 per day.
Providing water only - is never enough
when poverty attaches itself to a myriad of
personal, social and communal conditions.
Thanks to our administrative donors,
every dollar you give goes directly into the
field to impact the lives of the people we
are called to serve. Look at it this way.
We use 0¢ of every dollar
donated to cover
administrative costs.
Consider partnering with us as we
transform the lives of poor people around the
world.
14
We Value
Our Donors
We value your commitment to changing the lives
of the world’s poorest children and their families.
Your personal contribution goes directly into the
field to impact lives. As a valued partner, we
provide each donor with documented proof that
your project has been completed and has improved
the lives of people around the world.
You Can Save Lives
When you partner with The Joseph
Assignment Global Initiative, you can
provide life-giving resources and opportunities
for children and families who are struggling to
overcome poverty. Your financial commitment
ensures sustainable initiatives are implemented
that provide long-lasting results. We work
in remote villages and poor communities
to provide sustainable solutions for holistic
communal transformation from the effects of
extremely neglected communities around the
world.
Our donors’ interests always
come first.
Our experience shows that if we serve our
donors well, the lives of the people they seek to
transform will follow.
Corporate Sponsorship
Program
We truly appreciate our Partners and thank you for sending a strong message of corporate social responsibility to your customers, investors, and employees. Companies from everywhere
are discovering the enormous benefits of developing dynamic ongoing relationships with The
Joseph Assignment Global Initiative.
Companies participate in various ways by eradicating illiteracy, hunger, extreme poverty, and
child slavery for families around the world. The Joseph Assignment Global Initiative has
advanced and become one of many recognized humanitarian aid organizations. The Joseph
Assignment provides a holistic approach to countering the insurmountable number of preventable deaths of people living in poverty worldwide.
The Joseph Assignment’s ongoing success rests on its ability to leverage its unique framework
to mobilize its partners’ resources to deliver immediate aid - from the simplest form of medical
care to building a world-class learning institution for poor children who would otherwise not
have the opportunity to attend school or live healthy lives.
100% of your corporate sponsorship is tax deductible. We are proud to say 100% of every dollar raised is used to further extend our corporate partners’ visions and missions for corporate
social responsibility.
Thank you for choosing The Joseph Assignment Global Initiative to be an extension into
changing the world and making it a better place for everyone to live.

Thanks to
each of our
donors!
Every single dollar you donate, is put to use
where it counts—in the field. All of our U.S.
staff members volunteer 100% of their time,
so your gifts can stretch around the world.
21
Giving is easy. Our work is essential.
Cash, Check or Credit Card Donations are a Great Gift
Your immediate gift of cash or check is greatly needed and appreciated. Visit our website to make an
end-of-the-year gift of cash or check that can be applied as a tax deduction to your 2013 taxes. Or,
if you would rather make a gift by credit card, please call 866.LIVE.010 to speak with me or a member of
our team, or visit us online at www.josephassignment.org.
Tax Incentives for IRA Giving Extended through 2013
A tax law passed in 2010 reinstated the option allowing people 70½ and older to make tax-free transfers of up to $100,000 from their IRA through December 2013, provided that the money is transferred
directly to a qualified charitable organization from the IRA.
If this applies to you, please check with your financial advisor about the best ways to take advantage
of this giving opportunity and how state and federal tax laws may affect your plans.
Make a Gift of Stock by Wire Transfer
A gift of stock can support the lifesaving work of The Joseph Assignment while lessening your tax
burden. Whether the stock has increased or declined in value, you may be able to enjoy significant tax
benefits by making a gift of stock to The Joseph Assignment before December 31, 2013.
If the gift of stock has appreciated in value:
• You can avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value.
• You can deduct the amount of charitable income tax that is equal to the full fair market value of
the stock upon transfer.
You can easily donate the stock by simply providing your broker or financial advisor with the Joseph
Assignment office number: 815.806.3591 or 866.LIVE.010.
It is best to sell the assets first and then donate the proceeds to The Joseph Assignment. That way, you
may be able to claim both a loss deduction from the sales and the charitable deduction on your taxes.
Thank You
I know you are passionate about the needs of those living in extreme poverty throughout the world. I
hope I have provided you with some useful ways to support our lifesaving initiatives while also providing tax savings at the end of the year for your personal use. Remember to donate before December 31,
2013 to take full advantage of tax benefits this year. We appreciate all that you have done to help us
carry out our mission. You are always welcome to visit our work in any of the countries we serve, so you
can see firsthand how your generosity is making a difference. We are so grateful that you have chosen
to partner with us to change the world—one child, family, and community at a time.
