Message from
the President
March is here and I haven’t skied as much as I would have
liked. The Snow Basin/Powder Mountain trip was great,
with lots of snow and powder. I’m looking forward to the
Switzerland trip, just a matter of days away.
A big thanks to all who made the Crab Crack a success,
especially Fred Uranga, who makes it possible for us to use
the Officer’s Club at the base. The club had a complete make
over, and was quite delightful. Everyone seemed to have a
good time. Bogus Basin contributed a ski pass for next year
for our raffle and a new member, my friend, Hazel Haynes,
won the prize.
Upcoming is the Ullr Festival on March 6 and the annual
meeting on March 21. The annual meeting is a time for all
club members to have a say about what happens in the next
year. New board members will be elected and awards handed
out. Look for the announcement in this issue of The Mogul.

Life Flight Memberships Expired

First, I want to thank you folks who have renewed your Life Thank you for your continued support and participation
Flight membership through the Club. I currently have 12 in the Club and Life Flight. Have a great ski season and a

Pioneer Lodge/Bogus Basin
Saturday March 6, 2010
Sponsored by the Bogus Basin Ski Club & Hood River Distillers, Inc.
You will not want to miss out on the free fun and prizes as
well as thanking ULLR for the wonderful snow this season.
We all hope that it will continue coming. Who will be the
ULLR King and Queen this year? This year’s festival will
be somewhat different with the “search for ULLR” contest
throughout the mountain. Find an ULLR and bring it
in for a prize. It could be anything, from a t-shirt to a
snowboard.
The registration starts at 9:00 a.m. and it is free to participate
in any and all of the events. All participants will need to
register in order to claim their prize.
There will be an added bonus, half priced club memberships
($10.00) for those that want to join in the fun for the rest of
the season and the summer. We have many events planned.

Annual Membership Meeting
Sunday, March 21, 5-8 p.m.
Reef Restaurant - 6th & Main St
If you have not attended our annual meeting in the past,
you need to be there this year. It is a subsidized club event
and for only $10 per member you get beer and wine, dinner
with dessert, and the opportunity to get caught up on what
the club is doing. Elections of new board members will take
place and some fun surprises.
Social hour is from 5-6 p.m. Dinner starts at 6 p.m. with
election results and awards at 7:30 p.m. We’ll be done by

You will need to R.S.V.P. to Rosie Rosco with a check. Mail

BBSC Annual
Crab Crack

Another year and another fantastic BBSC Crab Crack took
place on Saturday, February 13 at the Gowen Field Activities
Center. One hundred and thirty hearty party goers showed up
to participate in all the great festivities.
We started the evening with the social hour beginning at 5:30
p.m. and what a great way to start. The evening took off from
there with outstanding food served at 6:30 p.m. We had crab,
we had ham, and we had all the trimmings which included
desserts provided by Dave and Ranae Kopet. Shortly after
dinner the band kicked in and the party really started. The
music was provided by Legacy and they were great.
Wonderful events like this take a good deal of volunteered
effort and this year was no exception. Our heartfelt thanks
go out to Rosie Rosco, Fred Uranga, Alicia Culbertson, Dave
Kopet, Kerry Banyard, Bob Running, Liz McWhorter and
Mishel VandenBusch for all their hard work and dedication.
We look forward to seeing you all next year and at the many
upcoming Bogus Basin Ski Club events for 2010.

Oh no! Did you miss out on Bogus Basin’s annual $199
season pass sale? Don’t panic – while the $199 sale is over,
you can still get a great deal on a 2010-2011 season pass.
Through the end of March, you can buy your season pass for
$239 or a family pass for $956. An individual Nordic pass is
$89 through the end of March.
Buy your passes now, as prices will continue to increase as
the year goes on and remember – season passes cannot be
purchased or picked up on the mountain. They are available
for purchase online, over the phone or at the Bogus Basin
office (2600 Bogus Basin Rd).

Intrawest Sells a Resort and Lodging Properties
Intrawest cried foul about published reports over an
impending foreclosure action and the company asserted that it remains in control of all its resorts after ads
appeared in major newspapers announcing that some
of Intrawest’s lenders, represented by Wilmington Trust
FSB, would conduct an auction to sell their interest in
the company. The auction is scheduled to take place on
February 19, while Whistler-Blackcomb hosts many of
the events for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
