El Bosque University is a superior education institution and a private, non-profit organization. Founded in 1977, the
university has legal status granted by the Colombian government
and institutional recognition by the Ministry of Education.
Since its inception as the Colombian School of Medicine, the University has been committed to developing the country through a
bio-psycho-social and cultural approach, with the imperative of promoting the dignity and integrity of all
individuals.
Our focus is being a superior education institution with a suitable
academic, scientific and technological background; our foundational interdisciplinary effort integrates health and well-being, while
working to address our country’s specific needs in the midst of a
global context.

Population
During the last five years, the University has overcome its annual growth in
a 10%. It demonstrates its serious commitment and the acceptation of its
academic programs in Colombia and the world.

El Bosque is concerned with providing personalized education in order to meet
the expectations and needs of each student. According to the statistics, each 8
students count with one professor.
Academic offer
El Bosque counts with a wide educative offer which includes programs in different
formation levels: undergraduate, specializations, master’s degrees and one Ph.D.
Today, the University has more than 96 programs, which means one of the wider
academic offers in the country.

Research
The University’s Research Policy seeks to contribute to scientific and
technological development of the country through the production
of knowledge, innovation, transfer and ownership of technologies
aimed at improving health conditions, welfare and productivity of the
Colombian population.

El Bosque University has developed
through the years an appropriated and
improved environment to learn, teach,
research, serve and work. For this reason,
nowadays it counts with an infrastructure
that bears the growth and the quality of life
of the community in two campuses.

For El Bosque University it is quite important to understand the student’s individual and collective needs. For this reason, the University seeks to satisfy their
interests understanding the well-being
and well-doing of each one by promoting
their development and contributing to
their formation and quality of life through
four areas:

It develops actions that promote conditions
to maintain and improve the community’s
health by offering services such as general
medicine, sports medicine and psychological, nutritional and alimentary advising.

Groups Area
This area counts with representative cultural groups such as pipes and drums, vallenato music, tropical music, flamenco, musical
ensemble, folk, contemporary and Arabic
dances, theater and puppets. It also organizes training workshops, massive integration
events and many other cultural activities.
It pursues the students’ success through
the implementation of the Student Support
Program, which main goal is to inform,
prevent and help the students during the
making decisions process. Also, it promotes the social responsibility by executing
a volunteers program and the creation of
interests groups that enrich the University
life.

Sports and
Physical
Activities Area
This area is in charge of the training sessions of the University’s sport teams such
as soccer, basketball, volleyball, tae kwon
do, ultimate, capoeira and chess. Also, it
organizes and administrates training workshops, tournaments and the Campus’ gym.

Internationalization
Currently, more than 3.6 million of college
students are mobilized through the world,
and to address this situation El Bosque
University promotes the formation of
global professionals and citizens able to
work in different international contexts.
With the support of the International
Relations Area, the University strengthens
its relations with other institutions around
the world, and also accompanies, manages
and intermediate the students’ mobility
process by providing the needed advisory
regarding institutional and migratory
process.
Internally, the University counts with high
prepared professors, who are able to
teach with global perspectives, curricular
projects with international standards,
and other tools that comply the students’
needs according to the current world
situation.

A PLEASANT STAY
Having in count the high value that
the international interaction has for
the formation of global citizens, the
University offers a place where the
international exchange students and
foreign academic visitors can stay. This
place is called the Mobility House,
which is an ideal space to strength
the bilingualism, to share cultural
experiences and to enjoy the stay in
Colombia.
