Repeated success at Falkenberg! The team arrived to Falkenbergs Motorbana with one goal in mind – to repeat the double class and race victory from 2010. Qualifying went well and weather conditions with clouds and 12-14 C saw the Healey in pole by 0.5 second. ”A comfortable margin considering the lap is only 1,7km” commented driver Anders after the session. The Healey ready for race! The team was extended for the weekend with new trainee mechanic Elise Schildt. Newsletter 2011 Newsletter33 29August – May 2011 Race 1 Starting from pole the red and silver Healey got well off the line and pulled a big gap to second placed Lotus Elan already on lap 1. Further back the field another Lotus crashed into the armco along the straight and safety car was deployed for 4 laps. After the re-start Anders outpaced his opponents and won the race by 12.6 seconds. The Lotus Elan and a Marcos 1800GT finished in 2nd and 3rd. Newsletter 2011 Newsletter33 29August – May 2011 Race 2 Starting from pole the Healey was passed by 2nd placed Lotus Elan in the start. ”Too much wheelspin” said Anders – but all for the show! Second podium visit of the weekend Receiving expert advice during half-shaft change. Anders outbraked the Lotus Elan on the straight on the second lap and then pulled away to finish the race 24.4 seconds ahead of the Lotus Elan with 3rd placed Healey of Roar Eriksen another 13 second behind. ”Pole and double victory is as good as it gets!” commented a very pleased race engineer Hans Bengtsson. Newsletter 2011 Newsletter33 29August – May 2011 Next Race – Jyllandsringen 1st - 2nd October Jyllandsringen is located on the west side of Denmark and hosts the finals of ”Historic Mostorsport Denmark’s” race series.The team has never before raced at Jyllandsringen but have no intention to finsih outside of the podium… Thanks to!
