Dear Auetaans,
It is a pleasure to meet you all by this News Letter. As usually this month was also very busy, both in Auetaa and
in the club. We had overwhelming response for both the AGMs. The new team of office bearers have assumed
duty in the club headed by Mr. C.K.Sridhar, 81-E&E as the President. In Auetaa there are no changes in the
committee and the old team continues.
This month we had an eye checkup and eye donation camp and hundred of them attended the camp and
donated their eyes. Coming months we may have only few programs as every one are busy in preparation for
the International convention in January 2012.
Preparation for the International Convention is going on in full swing, one team already visited Doha, Qatar. Our Auetaans in Doha
are very active and enthusiastic about the global meet and fifty of them are expected to attend the meet. This month we are planning
to visit our Auetaans in Singapore, Malaysia and Srilanka. Also we are visiting all our chapters in Tamil Nadu. The convention
committee is very actively doing all the preparative work.
I humbly request all of you to take active part in what ever way you can contribute to make this convention a grand success. Let us
consolidate our strength and grow together.

SECRETARY'S REPORT
Dear Auetaans and family members !
Hope you have settled down after celebrating Ayudha Pooja and also the mini-vacation of schools.
Well, AUETAA kept itself active during September with the 36th AGM attended by about 60 People
participating in the proceedings. This was followed by the Free Eye Check-up and EYE DONATION
Camp which our President organised through his contacts with some doctors. Certificates of
Appreciation were issued to those who pledged their eyes for the welfare of the society.
Our next endeavour is to facilitate business development among our own Members. The first-stage categorization of our
members according to their professions has been completed and the final version will be ready by 15th Otober. We will be
planning to have an interactive meeting among the Members of every category each month. I request you to participate
and benefit from this initiative.
We are also continuing our University Interaction task. The 2nd Workshop to be held in November 2011 will have
Entrepreneurial Development as the main topic. Members who wish to send write-ups on 'Tips to become an
entrepreneur" based on their own experience may please send them to me by email which we will compile and send to
FEAT, AU to be passed on to the final year students.
Is it time to have a family get-together? Will a 'Talent Evening' for our family members be OK or a Cookery Contest for the
ladies with a Celebrity Chef to judge the dishes ?

Mr C.Kirubakaran, Ex-Secretary (Singapore Chapter) has
recently presented paper on “Precast Structure Installations” at one
day National Workshop on Precast Buildings in India at IIT Madras,
jointly organised by ICI and IIT Madras. The papers are published in
proceedings. It was very well received among 450 delegates who
attended the workshop from different parts of India at various levels.
The delegates expressed appreciation and interest to attend his
future presentations/trainings. Few expressed interest to attend his
trainings in Singapore.

CONDOLENCE
In recent KATHMANDU AIR CRASH the following
three of the victims are Father's of MEMBERS of

CHAPTER NEWS - TRICHY
The mothly meeting of Trichy Chapter was held on 20-9-11 at
Hotel Sangam.
Mr.R.Thirunavukkarasu, (67M), who as A President of
Nagarathar Association, Trichy, attented the 80th birthday
celebrations of Dr. MAM.Ramaswamy, Chancellor, of our
Annamalai University, at Chettinad House Chennai, was the
speaker.
He narrated the function & also hospitality shown by
everyone of those attented the function.He listed the
philanthraphic actions by Dr.MAM, which many of us may not
be aware of.
Mr.R.Balagangatharan, (67T), spoke about the establishment
& growth of our University & the service done by Raja. Sir.
Annamaalai Chettier followed by Raja.Muthaiah Chettiar &
Dr.MAM. Ramaswamy Chettier.
The audience of about 15 members were literally Taken
back to their day of AUE&T days.
