He found a 24 foot by 60 foot pavilion type shelter can be purchased for $7-8K. This estimate includes a concrete floor but no labor to erect the shelter. Jack estimate an additional $2K for labor. It should be noted hear, that this is a preliminary fact finding information that still needs to be further discussed and voted on in the future. Field update: Bill Slabey and Jack Kezelian brought up the fact that the field has not been rolled in 3 years. for the smaller wheeled airplanes and overall performance, periodically we need to roll and reflation the grass area north of the runway. Jack summarized the cost of a 14 ton roller to be $750/day + transportation costs of $500. Other expenses include insurance, fuel and Taxes. In summary, Jack asked for $1600 to cover cost. Motion made by Bill to approve $1600 to roll the field. The motion was passed by all members. Discussion regarding flying hours: A member brought up the question of whether it was possible to extend the flying hours to 9:00 pm for electrics. The short answer is no. The reason is, we had to deal with noise complaints from neighbors and township officials. To settle this noise concern we met with the township and come to workable agreement. It was agreed that there would be no flying after 8 PM inclusive. Also negotiated was the no flying permitted until 10:00 am on week days and 12:00 noon on Sunday. Ford Motor Company, who leases the field to the club, is in agreement that the flying hours should be from 10 AM to 8 PM Monday through Saturday and Noon to 8 PM on Sunday. Fun fly success: First Summer Fun Fly was held on June 14 with all attending having a great time.
