What Is A HALTI Headcollar & What Does It Do?
The HALTI STOPS dogs from pulling by steering the lead so the body has to
follow. It was originally invented in 1979 by Dr Roger Mugford and is approved
by vets and canine experts worldwide.
How Does It Work?
Its unique design works by gently directing the dog’s head, steering him into
desired positions just as on a horse.
The HALTI makes training and behaviour modification of dogs practical and
safe. It can be used in a number of ways: either as a passive means to simply stop
dogs pulling or as an active training aid. Millions have been sold worldwide to
grateful owners of strong dogs.

FAQ’s & Overcoming Customer Objections
My dog won’t like it - most accept wearing the HALTI, but it may take
patience and the right approach. Remember when you first put a
collar on a puppy and all they do is try and scratch it off? Well this is
exactly the same, so persevere and your dog will soon get use to it.
It looks like a muzzle - you shouldn’t be worried about what other
people think as at least you are responsible to gain control of your
dog, you could always try one of the brightly coloured models so
they look more fun!
So What Sizes & Colours Are Available?
The HALTI range features six sizes in four colours: Black, Red, Brown & Blue.
Fitting Tips
Time should be taken when accustoming a dog to the HALTI, so that he has a positive association with it. Initially place
the noseband flat in your hand and feed the dog treats, so that he is happily putting his nose through it. When he
accepts it, you can secure the neck section, so it is snug, but not too tight.
On a correctly fitted HALTI, the noseband naturally sits ½ way down the nose and away from the eyes. When you release
pressure on the chin strap, make sure the dog can fully open his mouth without restriction.
When first using the HALTI, ensure you continually praise and reward your dog and feed treats, to help distract him and
ensure it is a rewarding experience. Never leave the HALTI on an unsupervised dog or he may chew it.
