Harry's Corner
Returning to our core mission:
Mike Mooney Night, Monday, June 16
As you may know, our beloved teacher/mad scientist/anger management specialist, Mike Mooney, is
retiring after 18 years of service.
Please spread the word to everyone that you can think of - students, alumni, parents, alumni parents,
fans - to help make Mike's send-off a memorable one! We need your stories!
PLEASE NOTE: Part II - TICKET PRICE HAS CHANGED - $30 For Dinner and gift with a cash
bar.
Part I, 6:00 PM, Jubilee Center (601-03 Jackson Street)
We will be performing a musical called "Mike the Musical" at the Jubilee Center at 6th and
Jackson. Tickets are $10 and seating is limited, so e-mail us promptly if you wish to attend. Please
pay Susan Gilbertson either cash or checks made to cash by Friday, June 13th. Email reservations
[email protected]
Part II, 8:30 PM, Willie McBride's (616 Grand Street)
Please come with an ID and embarassing stories to tell about Mike!!! 21 and over only for this party.
Please pay $30.00 & rsvp by Friday, June 13th. Payment can be made by cash or a check made out to
cash. Reservations/payments may be made to either Susan Gilbertson or Diane de Sombre (Rue) or
Linda (Demarest). This will include a retirement gift for Mike. Cash bar.
For a goodbye gift...we are asking YOU -to send in short videos with messages for Mike. Take a video
with your smart phone and email it to [email protected]. The videos should be short and as
simple as your saying We love you, Mike or Good luck, Mike, thank you for making me the person I am
today or I no longer fear your wrath, Mike. The deadline for the videos is Wednesday, June 11.

1st Annual Field Day & Picnic: Thursday June 26
Field Day: Parents, please drop all children off at 1600 Park Avenue (the Uptown Soccer Field) at
9:00 AM. All parents are invited to join in the fun! Please bring a water bottle, sunscreen, and a
baseball hat for your child.
Activities include wiffleball tournament, soccer tournament, 3 legged race, relay race, sack race, hula
hoop race, and of course, the egg & spoon race.
Picnic: Pot luck picnic lunch will follow at One 11th Street, Maxwell Place Park. Everyone
invited. Food designation will be emailed before the event. Students will be dismissed from here.
Children who attend aftercare will be escorted back to school.
Volunteers are needed for field day and the picnic. Please email Mitzi
Joss,[email protected], or leave your name in the office.
PTSO Wants You!
We are looking for some extraordinary parents who want to be part of the PTSO.
Please consider volunteering! The PTSO cannot continue to grow without your help! Positions
available for the 2014/15 school year - secretary, treasurer and VP. If you are interested, please

Good News!
Mateo Gonzalez (2nd Grader) now has another baby sister. Valentina was born at 12:11 PM
weighing 7lbs 9oz. Francois, his mother, and father (Edwardo, President of Elysian's Board), and other sister
are all fine. The kids will meet their sister tomorrow.
Lunch and After School Information
There are a few outstanding balances owed to the Elysian Lunch Program and the After School
Program. Please check your balances by reviewing your account at orgsonline.com.
All students who ordered lunch during PEEC (grade 4), Mystic (grade 5) and Camp Mason (grades 6 and 7)
trips will receive a credit for missed lunches.

Elysian Collects Box Tops for Education: Look for the red container in
front of Lynne's desk in the Rue Building. And there's a box in Demarest, too! So, bring 'em in!
As per state law, we no longer publish the exact location of trips for security reasons.
