Michelle (Felter) Reynolds is Development Officer for Three Rivers College. While her office is

Now that the College has moved into its new

2015 Vision Sikeston
Leadership Program
Now Enrolling!
Leadership Sikeston was a ground breaking community program established in
2009 by the Sikeston Area Chamber of
Commerce and Sikeston Young Professionals. It was designed to develop and
motivate a diverse group of up and coming leaders and young professionals by enhancing their potential for leadership roles
in our community. In 2014, the program
co-oped with the Executive Academy to
introduce participants to the opportunities,
realities, and challenges of the community. The end result is a network of leaders
devoted to understanding and improving
the quality of life in the area. Individuals
who have a genuine interest in leadership,
desire to learn, and want to become more
involved are encouraged to participate in
Vision Sikeston Leadership. The six, one
day sessions are held the third Thursday
of each month from 9am-5pm. Session
layouts may vary but will consist of active
panel discussions, educated speakers,
exciting tours, and meaningful group interaction. Established community leaders
and professionals from area organizations
and industries will participate in class sessions with the goal to inspire and provoke
new thoughts and ideas. In addition, class
members are highly encouraged to attend
as many general membership luncheons
as possible to maximize networking opportunities and to increase their community
exposure. If you or a co-worker are interested in becoming part of the 2015 Vision
Sikeston Leadership Program contact the
Sikeston Regional Chamber at 573-4712498, today!
FARMER’S RECOGNITION LUNCHEON
It’s that wonderful time of year again, no not the holidays and quality time at
home with your family. It’s our Annual Awards Banquet occasion and time
with your other family - your business family, (the one you like!)
Plans are well underway for our annual tribute to the biggest movers and
shakers in our community. Time is running out to recommend the brightest
stars in your organization, business, or favorite charity for an award. We are
accepting nomination forms for: Chamber Member of the Year; Civic Group
or Individual of the Year, Business and Small Business of the year; Citizen of
the year; and our Lifetime Achievement Recipient. Occasionally we get asked
how our winners are selected. After all nomination forms are received, a selection committee is then randomly chosen from the general membership,
generally comprised of 5-7 diverse SRC members. The selection committee
meets, reviews the proposed candidates for each category and individually
ranks their choices based on the quality of the written nomination. Put your
thinking cap on and your best foot forward for your nominee recommendation!
We hope that you will join us Thursday, April 23rd for a fun night out, honoring your friends, colleagues and neighbors. Again, this year we invite you
to our social hour before the awards presentations, so mark your calendars
to come meet and mingle with various other Chamber members. We look
forward to seeing you there!
