SIKESTON REGIONAL CHAMBER OPEN HOUSE The Sikeston Regional Chamber just recently joined the office of Sikeston Department of Economic Development. The SRC hosted an Open House that correlated with the Downtown Holiday Open House on November 13. Morgan began her employment with the SRC in March of 2014. During her tenure as Assistant Director, Morgan was responsible for most of the outstanding updates to our materials and correspondence. She was instrumental in the changes to our banquet format and presentation all while serving in her position with enthusiasm and dedication. The purpose of this program is to educate, motivate, and better prepare both existing and up-and-coming leaders in the community. Vision Sikeston introduces to class members various opporutunities, realities, and challenges in our community. Additionally, the program creates a network of leaders devoted to understanding and improving the quality of life in our community. Those individuals who have a genuine interest in leadership and desire to learn about area industry are encouraged to apply. Key areas of industry are covered in 6 one-day sessons including: education, health care, agriculture, city govenrnment, and business/economic development. Scott County Public Administrator Julia Crader Dolan was appointed as Scott County Public Administrator in June 2015. After practicing law for nearly thirty two years, Dolan now serves as the court appointed guardian for many individuals with disabilities. As part of her commitment to the needs of her Scott County clients with many different diagnosises, the county administrator’s office is seeking donations to assist with Christmas gifts for these residents. Any and all help is requested from Sikeston-Miner citizens to make this holiday season a joyous one for all of our friends and neighbors. Coats 4 Kids Assisting local kids in need, Cash City will serve as a drop off location for donated coats, sized infant through 14-16. Coats 4 Kids is a local program to help keep local kids warm this winter. Wes Bye, Owner of Cash City, said, “We are focusing on ‘local first.’ That means giving as much business to lcoal shops, resaurants, merchants, etc… I want to do the same with our coat drive and our toy drive.” To drop off new or gently used coats and make a positive impact to our local community, see Wes at 514 S.
