Dual diagnosis list
Medisoft v19 makes it easy to search for
ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes using the code
itself or a full or partial description. Where
applicable, the display shows how ICD-10
corresponds to ICD-9. See figure 1.

Customized carrier settings
The new codes go into effect on October
1, 2014, but a select few carriers might not
transition on day one. Medisoft v19 allows
you to specify whether the carrier is using
ICD-9 or ICD-10 and warns you if the wrong
code is entered. This helps to both save
time and reduce coding errors. It’s also
easy to set the new code when you add new
carriers. See figure 2.
Mapping tool
Medisoft v19 features a mapping tool based
Medisoft Mobile
When you purchase Medisoft v19, you can
on CMS’s General Equivalent Mappings
(GEM) that can help you translate some
ICD-9 codes to ICD-10. Enter an ICD-9 code
and Medisoft v19 will provide a mapping
to the appropriate ICD-10 code(s), where
applicable. This helps you compare and
translate data during the ICD-10 transition
process. See figure 3.

New CMS 1500 02-12 form
Beginning April 1, 2014, all physician
practices and billers must use the new
CMS 1500 Claim Form (02/12) which
accommodates ICD-10 codes. Medisoft v19
supports use of this form, helping ensure
accurate claims processing. See figure 4
