Star of the Week!
Congratulations to: Arya for always pushing
herself, working to the best of her ability,
making a smooth transition between the
summer holidays and starting a new year at
school, taking on roles and responsibilities within the school
and helping others.
Class 1 Learning
This week in English we have been exploring the story of
Super Daisy who defeats Planet Pea. Next week we will be
writing our own story of a superhero who defeats a planet
made of our food arch enemy! We have been working hard to
understand place value in maths using hundreds (Year 2), tens
and ones. In our topic work we have looked at maps of our
local area and created a map of Musbury. Some of us were
able to point out where we live. Year 2 are working on
remembering the 7 continents and 5 oceans of the world and
place them on a world map.
Requests! Class 1 are keen junk modellers! If you have any
bags of junk please do bring them in. Please can any plastic
containers be washed out well. If anyone has any clothes that
they no longer need, we would be grateful to have them as
spares for the infants.
Homework
Year 1 - complete the place value sheet
Year 2 - complete the scales balancing sheet.
5 minutes daily reading.
Mrs Philpot
Class 2 Learning
This week we have been focusing on a book called The Three
Little Pigs and the Big Bad Robot. The children have been
discussing the events and their travels around our solar
system. This has linked into our topic learning and finding out
about our solar system.
Homework:
Maths : Arrange the given digits in the five boxes to get as
close to the target number as possible. You may use each digit
once only. English: 10 minutes reading daily. (Homework is
due in the Wednesday after it has been given out.)

Forest School Club
It's that mucky time of year again! I just
want to remind you that children need
full wet-weather gear for Forest School
Club. Please don't send the children
in any clothes that matter because, as
you know, we do get mucky from time to
time, and being in the great outdoors is
fabulous, no matter what the weather, so
it's worth the extra effort. We couldn't
go to the field this week because not everyone had the right
gear, but we did do some brilliant 'rain painting,' instead that the
children thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you very much. Miss West
Parents Forum - Monday 21st September 3pm
Thank you to all the parents who came to the Parents Forum this
week. There is a second opportunity on Monday 21st September
at 3pm for anyone who missed it or couldn’t make it. I will be
giving a short presentation on the vision and aims of the school
and to answer any questions you have about the children’s
learning. There will be short discussion also about the PTFA.
And finally ….
It’s been another busy week! Our Star of the Week has been a
difficult discussion as all the children have been working and
being the best they can be! Some of them have surprised
themselves about what they have learnt and achieved. Well
done to all - keep it up! We have decided to appoint a Head Boy
and Head Girl of the School. Congratulations to Arya and Taylor
who have been chosen for these roles. I am sure they will enjoy
the responsibility and do their very best.
Have a lovely weekend.
