FOCUS { Spring 2016 } NO WHERE TO GO BUT UP! CHRISTUS POINT OF LIGHT CLINIC HAS EXPANDED AND RELOCATED. HRISTUS Point of Light Clinic has moved to a new location and expanded its services to meet the growing healthcare needs of the Galveston County area. WHAT DOES EXPANSION MEAN FOR CHRISTUS POINT OF LIGHT? •Opportunities to reach and care for more in need •Ability to go above and beyond in offering quality care and support •A source for healthcare, mental care and social services of Galveston County and surrounding areas For over 25 years, the clinic has been providing quality, affordable healthcare to thousands of men, women and children, regardless of their ability to pay. With this relocation and expansion, CHRISTUS Point of Light has gained more opportunities to serve and help those who view healthcare as a luxury. CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic celebrated its new expansion and relocation with a blessing and dedication ceremony performed by Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Fiorenza. 4,371 patients relied on CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic for their medical care in 2015 3 DICKINSON AVE C Thank you to our generous donors who made this possible for CHRISTUS Point of Light Clinic! 8 646 45 S ET DE RD 517 2401 TERMINI ST #100 SCHOOL 1,280 children are now smiling since Operation San José began providing free surgical repair 16,508 children received medical and counseling visits in their schools 21,428 patients received care from CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinics Last year, CHRISTUS Foundation extended care to over 66,000 of our neighbors. SAN JOSÉ MEDICAL MISSION TRIP CHRISTUS SCHOOL CLINICS CHRISTUS HEALTHY LIVING MOBILE CLINICS facing the world with a smile healthy schools = healthy kids healthy people, healthy communities, healthy world It’s that time of year again. On May 7th, CHRISTUS Foundation Operation San José Mission trip will journey to Chihuahua, Mexico to provide free surgical repair of cranial and facial birth defects. The process of recruiting, identifying and preparing for the trip takes a total of five months. Once there, the team will perform over 40 surgeries that week. That’s about nine a day! Tremendous thanks to the Operation San José team and supporters for truly making a difference. Because of their ongoing efforts and dedication, many children have improved their physical condition and now look forward to a brighter, healthier, happier future. CHRISTUS Foundation for HealthCare’s School Clinics perform and provide outstanding quality care. More than 16,000 times a year, CHRISTUS School Clinics are called upon to care for children. A dependable team Our medical assistants, counselors, nurses and doctors are a welcomed and comforting security for student’s parents and have become a daily necessity in the health of children at CHRISTUS School Clinics. In February, CHRISTUS Healthy Living Mobile Clinic hosted a Health Fair at University of St. Thomas to provide college students with free health screenings. Many students gained valuable information about maintaining good health as well as results for their blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol testing. Like all CHRISTUS Foundation programs, our Healthy Living Mobile Clinics aim to provide direct access for any and all that might be excluded from care, including college students. Because of our Mobile Clinics, these under-served and hard-to-reach college students were offered quality care. Facebook “f ” Logo Have you heard the news?
