This includes worldwide application development, the company’s private cloud, IT security, data management, technology infrastructure, and telecommunication networks. Baez’s career spans more than three decades with global Fortune 100 companies in industries including manufacturing, packaged goods, aerospace and defense, and products and services for the scientific community. Prior to HP, Baez was vice president of information technology services and CIO of Kimberly-Clark Corp., where he was responsible for leading the company’s enterprise-wide information systems initiatives. Before Kimberly-Clark, Baez served in CIO roles for Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc. and Honeywell’s Automation and Control Solution group. He began his career at Northrop Grumman, where he spent 25 years and finished as CIO for its electronics systems sensor sector. Baez graduated from the University of La Verne in California in 1994, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Sandy Bakken Information Officers Practice Russell Reynolds Associates Sandy Bakken is a member of the Information Officers and Business and Professional Services practices within the Technology Sector at Russell Reynolds. He focuses much of his work on CTO, CIO and product development assignments for clients across diverse industry segments, including media/digital entertainment, healthcare/life sciences, retail, and financial services. Prior to joining Russell Reynolds Associates, Sandy served as an analyst with a boutique asset manager in New York. Before that, he worked at a law firm in Manhattan and was responsible for client relations and client management. Sandy received his B.A. from University of Michigan and his M.A. from Columbia University. Ashwin Ballal, ph.D. VP & CIO KLA-Tencor Corporation Dr. Ashwin Ballal, has been Vice President & Chief Information Officer at KLA-Tencor since 2009. Prior to which, Dr. Ballal was President and Managing Director for KLA-Tencor India from 2007. He began at KLA-Tencor in 2000 and has held various executive and senior level positions, including those in marketing, engineering, program and operations management. During his tenure with the company, he also was General Manager for the Macro Inspection Product Division with full P&L responsibilities. Before being at KLA-Tencor, Dr. Ballal held various senior management positions at Electroglas Inc., Keithley Instruments and Noran Instruments. He earned his doctorate and post doctorate degrees in Material Science and Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park and his bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy from the National Institute of Technology in India. Dr Ballal lives in San Jose, CA with his wife Sandhya, daughter Shyna and son Shawnuk. He is an avid sports enthusiast and loves to travel to exotic locations around the world with his family. 13 SpeAKeRS eileen Boerger CEO CorSource Technology Group Eileen Boerger, CEO and a director of CorSource Technology Group is a tech veteran with more than 30 years of software and technology industry experience. An engineer by training, she has led the company to record growth as a leading provider of data analytics, software development and technical staffing services. Ms. Boerger launched our software development consulting services to help companies meet product development challenges for Business Intelligence (BI), SaaS, Mobile and beyond. She works closely with CorSource experts in business data analytics, systems integration, and enterprise-wide data management to provide tactical, sustainable solutions for businesses nationwide. She is a sought-after speaker on the latest technology developments at global venues including Cloud Analytics Summit, All About Mobile, Cloud Channel Summit, Softletter's SaaS University and others. Asheem Chandna Partner Greylock Partners Asheem Chandna is a Partner at Greylock Partners, a leading venture capital firm, where he is focused on the next generation of enterprise IT companies. He has helped create and grow multiple technology businesses to market-leading positions — both as a venture capitalist and previously as a product executive. His current company boards include AppDynamics, Aquantia, Delphix, Imperva (IMPV), Palo Alto Networks (PANW), Zenprise and Xsigo. Sham Chotai Chief Technology Officer GE Transportation, Global Services Sham Chotai is Chief Technology Officer of GE Transportation. He is responsible for identifying and evolving architectures and solution offerings that leverage GE’s innovation in analytics, digital and the Industrial Internet. Before joining GE Transportation, Sham was Vice President of Cloud Computing at Hewlett-Packard responsible for HP’s Private Cloud. Sham led development of platform/infrastructure services for hyper-scale apps like ePrint and big data analytics on Vertica, Hadoop and Cassandra. Prior to this role, Sham served as Vice President of R&D for HP’s Business Intelligence Solutions division and led HP’s acquisition of Vertica. Sham has more than 25 years of experience leading R&D organizations at the forefront of business intelligence and web technologies at companies such as Cognos, KANA, CMGI and Red Brick Systems. As cofounder of DecisionView, he led the development of a patented predictive analytics platform for the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Sham is a graduate of University of Toronto’s Electrical Engineering program. 14 SpeAKeRS Bob Concannon Senior Client Partner Korn Ferry Bob Concannon is a Senior Client Partner within the San Francisco office of Korn Ferry. He is a member of the Firm’s Global Technology Market. Mr. Concannon brings to Korn/Ferry over 10 years of technology executive search experience, leading numerous CIO and CTO searches across industries. He also serves on Korn/Ferry’s Information Technology Officers Center of Expertise. Furthermore, Mr. Concannon leads searches in the software and IT communities on assignments for clients in the areas of cloud, mobility and enterprise software. Venture capitalists and private equity firms look to his expertise around helping Internet startups migrate to the next executive level as they receive their post Series B and C funding rounds. Prior to his current position, Mr. Concannon served as the managing director of another global executive search firm, leading the technology practice, U.S. Additionally, he led the firm’s global technology vertical for seven years, coordinating worldwide search activity in the technology sector with Fortune 100 top accounts. Previously, Mr. Concannon served in sales and marketing roles for both Pioneer Electronics and Sony Corporation. He has completed over 500 search projects in his career with many of those projects reaching successful IPOs. Walter Curd VP & CIO Maxim Integrated Products Walter Curd has been VP and CIO for Maxim Integrated since 2008. Maxim is a leader in the analog semiconductor market with $2.5B in annual revenue. In his current position he has led a modernization of infrastructure and applications and is now leading a radical transformation of the IT organization to establish a full strategic business partnership. Walter has insured that Maxim is an early adopter of consumer technologies, cloud computing, and most recently enterprise social networking. Maxim has been recognized as having one of the most innovative IT organizations in the Information Week 500. Prior to joining Maxim he built the Information Technology organization for Marvell Semiconductor to support their growth from $300M to over $3.0B during his tenure. A transformational CIO, Ben is focused on liberating companies from the legacy world of expensive and unproductive Enterprise Software and Information Technology. As the first VP IT/CIO for Box Ben is responsible for building out the Enterprise IT function utilizing the existing suite of cloud based solutions and enhancing where needed. Prior to joining Box Ben was the CIO for Pabst Brewing Co. where he transformed the traditional IT infrastructure and application environment into a service orientated organization delivering business value. Prior to Pabst Ben spent 9 years with Red Bull leading teams across Asia Pacific, Europe and Americas. With grounding in ITSM Ben quickly moved into the application and BI space delivering mobile applications, BI solutions and a global portal and a collaboration platform. patty Hatter SVP Operations and CIO McAfee Patty Hatter is responsible for innovating and executing a sustainable transformation of McAfee’s operational processes and infrastructure across the global organization. As CIO and SVP of Operations, Hatter is in a unique position to drive cross-functional partnerships, priorities and roadmaps, which are accelerating delivery of key business capabilities across the company, and positively impacting McAfee’s bottom line. Focused on driving world-class operational effectiveness and scalability, Hatter leads all facets of McAfee’s ongoing transactional business, including M&A integration. This unique combination of IT and Ops under one umbrella has led to huge efficiencies and cost savings for the company and has improved employee engagement by 50%. Hatter joined McAfee with more than 20 years of experience leading a wide range of operations at Fortune 500 companies in the high tech, telecommunications, financial services and healthcare industries. She was previously vice president of business operations at Cisco where she dually reported to the heads of operations and channels, responsible for driving tighter integration and improved productivity and performance between Cisco and the channel partners. Hatter was cited as a “game-changer” by partners and industry analysts alike. As vice president of quote to cash at Cisco, Hatter also led a renowned transformation of their global processes and systems infrastructure. Overall, her team’s efforts helped to enable and support Cisco’s growth and scalability as net sales grew from $22 billion in 2004 to $40 billion in 2010 during her tenure. Prior to Cisco, Hatter spent more than 15 years at AT&T where she held many executive positions in strategic planning, business development and managing the professional services business unit within the United States and Europe. Hatter holds both a master of science as well as a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University. She has also attended executive education programs at Columbia University and Northwestern University. 16 SpeAKeRS Bruce Hoffmeister Global CIO Marriott International, Inc. Bruce Hoffmeister, Global Chief Information Officer for Marriott International, holds global accountability for all business information technology resources. With 22 years at Marriott, Mr. Hoffmeister brings a vast and diverse set of experiences to this role. He was previously Senior Vice President, IR Shared and Application Services, leading the effort to drive sustainable efficiencies within the technical infrastructure that supports the computing resources for Marriott’s worldwide operations. In addition, he directed the development efforts to replace and update the Sales and Marketing, Event Management and Revenue Management systems in order to optimize profits across the total hotel, increase the efficiency of the selling process and enable the delivery of superior events. Beginning his career at Marriott as a Senior Financial Analyst for Development Finance, Mr. Hoffmeister has held various finance and accounting roles within the Development, Information Resources, and Lodging functions. He has also held the position of Senior Vice President, Global Revenue Management where he was responsible for developing and leading the company’s worldwide pricing, inventory management and selling strategies. Mr. Hoffmeister holds bachelor degrees in mathematics and biology, with a minor in computer science, from Thomas More College, as well as a masters of business administration degree, with concentrations in finance and accounting, from the Owen Graduate School of Management, Vanderbilt University. Matthew Joe VP & North American Chief Technology Innovation Officer Avanade In his role as Chief Technology Innovation Officer (CTIO) for Avanade, North America, Matt Joe is responsible for Avanade’s Innovation & Incubation function. He fosters a customer-centric innovation culture within the business and works with customers and Avanade teams to embrace the art of the possible. Matt first joined Avanade in 2000 and served in a number of global engineering and leadership positions including Global Director of Business Solutions Architecture and Technical Director of Avanade’s Global CTO Office. Matt left Avanade in 2009 to become the CTO at a digital marketing agency where he grew and led a global team of technologists that focused on delivering innovative user-centric experiences on all devices and platforms for the world’s most visible and vibrant consumer brands. He rejoined Avanade in 2013. Matt is a graduate of Boston College where he majored in computer science and minored in cognitive science. Mike Kail VP IT Operations Netflix Mike Kail is the VP of IT Operations at Netflix, leading a team of 90 employees in his organization. Mike is an experienced professional with over 20 years of IT-Operations executive leadership experience who focuses on highly scalable architecture. Before Netflix, he was the VP of IT Operations at Attensity where he was responsible for various big data components as well as the integration of Americas and the EMEA IT teams. He specializes in Unix System/Network Architecture, SaaS/Cloud deployments, Hadoop/HBase clusters,Monitoring/Alerting, SQL/NoSQL, Virtualization, & Performance Tuning/Scalability. Mike has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Iowa State University. 17 SpeAKeRS Christopher Keene Vice President & General Manager, Cloud Platform and Automation BMC Software Christopher Keene is vice president and general manager of cloud platform and automation at BMC Software, the IT complexity management company. In this role, he leads the strategy for BMC’s hybrid cloud management and automation offerings. Before joining BMC, Keene was Vice President, Cloud and Big Data Solutions at VMware, where he created the “Big Fast Data” partnership with EMC that led in 2013 to the $300M Pivotal spinout. Prior to this, he was CEO of WaveMaker - the most successful cloud platform for citizen developers that was acquired by VMware in 2011. Keene was also founder and CEO of Persistence Software, pioneering the data management technology underlying the Java standard, and taking the company public.
